Last week the MVMA attended the MU CVM VET event where we welcomed the incoming class of 2029 to the MU College of Veterinary Medicine. As you can see in the photos there were many laughs and the excitement of the students brought many emotions. Congratulations to the class of 2029 and good luck on your first semester!

They’re almost here! Tomorrow we welcome the CVM Class of 2029 to campus as they begin orientation — the first step in their four-year journey to becoming veterinarians. 🐾 Meet our newest Tigers and help us cheer them on as they get started.

We have spent the last hour on the phone talking to Michael Kelsey of OCA, State Vet Dr. Rod Hall and the conspiracy spreaders are wrong- there have been a handful of maggots submitted to a qualified lab in Oklahoma to check to see if they are New World Screwworm- all samples have come back NEGATIVE and are instead from blowflies-
Dr. Hall says he suspects that USDA Secretary Rollins will Friday in Texas announce a plant will be built in south Texas to produce Sterile Flies that will be needed to push the NWS back towards Panama. That's needed sooner rather than later.

The MVMA has worked with Elanco and Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE) to develop The Power of 10 Leadership Program. This program chooses 10 veterinarians that have graduated within the last 8 years and provides them with events and activities to help develop their individual leadership skills, nurture the comradery of the "class" through teambuilding, and inspire the group to pass along these new skills in their workplace. The group will learn about life balance and personal skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

On Thursday April 7th, a Power of 10 workshop was hosted which included presenters from ProPartners Team, Wes and Kale, Mrs. Julie Braun from the MVMA, and Dr. Sheila Taylor. Thank you to our presenters and ProPartners for their continued support of our association, members, and for providing lunch!
