Sweet Pappy preferred a companion to a recovery kennel, so Dr Potts set up a work station where he could have some companionship. We are so lucky to have such caring doctors!

Dr Murphy and Dr Ryan had the pleasure of attending the capstone senior project of Charles A Tindley highschool senior, Mikel. Mikel chose the topic, Barriers to Veterinary Care, and we could not be more impressed with his topic choice! When he reached out to us we were honored to be involved. 

Mikel brought together community members to discuss barriers to pet care. A theme of information access and financial constraints repeated throughout the discussion. 

This is very near and dear to our hearts. We started IAUC because we knew we could help more animals and families. Investment groups have taken hold of veterinary medicine and with them comes a type of veterinary medicine that only serves the most affluent patients. Earlier that morning Dr Ryan was volunteering at a free vaccine event and the need for care and the love families have for their pets has never been so apparent. We see the good pets can do for people and the value of that bond and believe more pets deserve care. 

We wish we had a clear solution to Mikel's veterinary access question. We do not have all the answers, but comming together as a community was a great step forward! The future is bright with students like Mikel!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! 🍗

Megan won our jelly bean flavor guessing contest! The guess that put her ahead was correctly identifying a chicken drumstick flavored jellybean as "meat ??" 

There were several guesses written in as "cat pee"  for one jellybean and the correct answer was gravy. Not sure what that says about Jelly Belly's gravy flavor given how experienced this group is with sniffing out cat urine👀
