Please remember to keep your pets safe as the weather gets warmer!

Please share! 🐶🐾 During the coming heat wave, the pavement can easily be 30-60°F warmer than the air.

If you take your dog (or cat?) on a walk, make sure you do it in the morning or late evening. If you can’t hold your hand on the ground for more than 7 seconds because it’s too hot, then it’s too hot for your pets.

If you leave your pets outside, just make sure they have plenty of shady, grassy areas on which to rest.. And always keep their water bowl full!

Sterling was abandoned at our park a few weeks ago! His brother, who he was abandoned with, was adopted, but he needs a home, too, and is such a sweet boy! If you’re interested in adopting, please contact Southside Animal Shelter!

🩶6 year old Sterling is looking for a home. He is a Poodle mix and weighs around 25 lbs. He is a nice boy, he still has some energy, so he would love a home with a fenced yard, or someone who will take him for walks throughout the day. 🩶
