Old York Road Dog Training Club OYRDTC is a volunteer run non-profit dog training club. Obedience training for all breeds. Big or small, we train them all. When and where do we train?

We are a non-profit dog club promoting the training of dogs of all breeds. The mission of the club is to encourage dog owners to develop a dog's natural intelligence by training them in Obedience. Classes are offered for puppies, for beginners, and for dogs at various intermediate levels. We have a variety of events for dogs to attend with their owners, including a holiday party, an annual member

picnic, a Halloween party, dog walks, and attending baseball games with our dogs, just to name a few! We can also offer support and resources to those who wish to compete in a variety of dog sports. We train at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Welsh Road (Rt. 63) and Mann Road in Horsham, PA. Puppies may enter the Puppy Kindergarten Class at any time during the year. Hours are as follows:

Intermediate - Mondays 1pm
Puppy Kindergarten - Mondays 6pm
Beginners - Mondays 7pm
Intermediate - Mondays 8pm

Intermediate - Tuesdays 10am
Rally - Tuesdays 11am
Intermediate - Tuesdays 6pm
Rally - Tuesdays 7pm
Beginners - Tuesdays 8pm

Puppy Kindergarten - Thursdays 6pm
Beginners - Thursdays 7pm
Intermediate - Thursdays 8pm

Our Annual Club Picnic is being held on Sunday, September 28th from 12:00 -3:00 pm at FORT WASHINGTON STATE PARK in the Flourtown Pavillion.
This event is free for all club members with a limit of 2 meals per household.
Additional meals and guests are $10 per person which can be paid by check or Venmo to Payments.
Only club members can bring their dogs and all dogs must be on leashes.
There will be photographers there to take beautiful photos of you and your dogs.
We will play lots of fun and competitive games with our dogs!

Our classes are designed for dogs 4 months and older.

Bio:
Echo loves his mama and attending rally class. Pippa loves to lay around and boss around the boys! And Snickers loves to make his mom crazy and be the class clown.

Bio: I adopted Lucy 3 years ago from a rescue. Lucy was a puppy mill mom. She sometimes works hard in Sue’s Tuesday night class, she especially loves when Karen holds her for recalls. But she really has improved since we started over a year ago in the OYRDTC beginners class. Lucy’s favorite toys are rope toys ( it took about a year for her to actually play with a toy) and her favorite activity is going out for a walk. Lucy has 2 doggie brothers named Kramer and Teddy.

Bio: Keeva and Gracie spending their day looking out the bay window watching the wild life pass by. Each day the girls look forward to going to a training class at Old York Road Dog Training Club Monday thru Wednesday.
Keeva loves to run around the yard searching for the birds and squirrels hoping to catch them one day.
Gracie loves to play ball or frisbee all day every day; BALL IS LIFE! Oh and she loves to parkour on the furniture, there is no such thing as an off button with Gracie.

🐶💫 Meet Our K9 Club Member of the Week! 💫🐶

Dogs Name: Liesl & Brigid

Age: 1 & 5

Dogs Breed: Bichon Frise

Awards/Certifications/Titles: None yet!

Bio:
Liesl is the sweetest puppy I've ever had. She doesn't really have any favorite toys - she just wants whatever toy her sister Brigid has. In fact, she will watch and calculate the perfect time for a toy sn**ch when it is least expected! She loves to pull on pant legs and nibble on toes. She also has a built-in clock and lets everyone know exactly when dinner time is every night. Other than home and bed, Liesl's favorite place to be is her cousin Rosie's house for playdates.

Brigid is definitely a character, and I chalk that up to her happy-go-lucky Irish spirit. (She was born on Saint Patrick's Day). She's never met a toy she hasn't liked, and her favorite activity is to play fetch...over and over and over again! Her favorite toys are definitely Bunny, Car Bone, and Calamari. (Yes, we name all of the toys). If she hears the fridge open and the cheesy cheese come out, she will not leave you alone until you've paid the cheese tax. Brigid is very much a COVID dog and loves nothing more than being home with her people, but she does like to go for a ride in the coach at Peddlers' Village from time to time!
