Happy Sunday to all of our friends and family! We are happy to invite everyone to a potluck at Miss Pam's house this coming Saturday (March 28th). The party will be starting at 2:30pm!

As potlucks tend to go, we are requesting that people bring their favorite dish or beverage to share, alongside their favorite memory of Pam and El Gezira Riding Academy.

We are requesting guests to bring their own lawn chairs if they would like a place to sit, and for help supplying tables/canopies as well since the majority of Pam's show/picnic equipment was sold in the estate sale (BIG YAY!).

We are looking forward to seeing everyone and cannot properly express Pam's excitement for the party!

El Gezira Riding Academy is hosting a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE on Saturday, March 14 starting at 9am and running throughout the day.
EVERYTHING MUST GO as we are approaching the end of our lease. We have not just barn supplies (water barrels, water buckets, stall mats) but also A TON OF TACK, appliances, furniture, kitchenware, tools, electrical supplies and more! Please come by and see if there is anything ee may have that you could need!

Howdy folks! We have A TON of goodies left over from the weekend! We understand not everyone was able to make it, but that is a-okay! We will be hosting another BIG BARN SALE this coming Saturday (march 14th) starting at 9am. It will run well into the day!!
We are selling more than just equine gear, and barn supplies! We also have furniture, refrigerators, tools and appliances available for purchase!

Hey guys! We would like to invite everyone who has been a part of the EGRA family to our "Goodbye Vigil" for all the horses who have passed at EGRA. Tomorrow at 3pm, we will be honoring all the deceased horses who have touched our lives, making us the people we are today. We want to give them one last, big thank you and I love you.
If you would like to come out and be a part of this celebration of horsey life, the vigil will begin at 3pm in the courtyard of EGRA. Our dear friend Ms. Mary Beth will be leading the devotion.

We love you all so much and look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon 🥰

After nearly 50 years of serving the equestrian community, El Gezira Riding Academy will close its gates on Saturday, February 28, 2006. We are deeply saddened by this development. All are invited to join the El Gezira family on March 28, 2026 to honor Pam Ibrahim for five decades of service and dedication.

EGRA’s life and joy was its community of families. The multitude of people that brought life to Pam and Galal are what made this equestrian center so incredibly special. Touching the hearts of hundreds of people, Pam and Galal brought the love of horsemanship to the Shelby County and surrounding Birmingham communities. Known for their “tough love” style of coaching, they produced some of the greatest riders in Alabama. Several of their students went on to compete in National Level Eventing as well as opening their own equestrian centers. Many students who grew up with Pam and Galal continued their family legacy by bringing their children, and grandchildren, to learn under the EGRA tutelage.

Pam and Gala brought a unique perspective to their riding academy. They focused on horsemanship and the principles of classic schooling that transcended specific disciplines. This incredible coaching duo helped their students understand that growth comes from patience, dedication, and empathy. All students, whether children or adults, developed deep, empathic bonds with the horses and saw them as partners, not objects.

We will be celebrating Pam and the life of EGRA on March 28th! If you or a loved one rode here, or know Pam and Galal, please join us at Pam's residence! It will be a day we all gather together to share memories, photos, videos and our love for Pam and EGRA. All are welcome! If you have any questions in regard to the event, please contact our Barn Manager, Apricity Galan.

We are announcing our Valentines Day show! Featuring dressage tests and a new jumper course for our riders! This year, Valentines Day falls on a Saturday! The perfect day for a show!
