As the temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s definitely too hot for your dog’s paws! 🐾🔥

The 7-Second Test:
Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can’t comfortably hold it there for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for a walk.

A few more tips to keep your pups cool:
💧 Hydration is Key: Always carry water, even for short trips.
🌳 Stick to the Shade: Walk in the early morning or late evening when the sun is lower.
🏠 Indoor Fun: On extra hot days, keep the exercise indoors with some brain games or a trip to see us at WCK!

Walks are great, of course 🦮, but things like sniffing games 👃, puzzle toys 🧩, short training sessions 🎓, and enrichment activities can help reduce boredom and build confidence too.

A tired dog is nice.
