❤️ From Our CVVC Family to Yours ❤️

This Valentine’s Day, we’re feeling extra grateful for the love we get to see every single day — wet noses, happy purrs, wagging tails, and the incredible families who trust us with their pets.

Thank you for allowing us to care for your four-legged Valentines. We truly consider you part of the CVVC family 💙

While you’re celebrating, keep these out of paw’s reach:

🍫 Chocolate – Even small amounts can cause vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, seizures, and heart rhythm issues.
🍬 Sugar-free candy (xylitol) – Can cause rapid, life-threatening drops in blood sugar in dogs.
🌸 Lilies – Extremely toxic to cats (even small exposures).
🎁 Candy wrappers & gift bags – GI obstruction risk.

If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, call us right away.

🌹 Roses are red
💗 Violets are blue
🦠 Pyometra is deadly
But preventable too

This photo(in the comments) shows a uterus filled with infection — a condition called pyometra. It occurs in unspayed females and can quickly become life-threatening.

The only treatment? Emergency surgery.
The best prevention? Spaying before it ever happens.

This Valentine’s Day, give your pet the gift of a long, healthy life ❤️

❄️ Think ticks disappear in winter? Think again! ❄️

Yesterday, we found a fully engorged tick on a cat — in the middle of winter! 🐱🕷️

Ticks don’t magically die off when it gets cold. On milder winter days (above freezing), they can still be active and looking for a host. That means your pets are still at risk for:
✔️ Lyme disease
✔️ Anaplasmosis
✔️ Ehrlichiosis
✔️ Bartonella (especially in cats)

What can you do?
🐾 Keep your pets on year-round tick prevention
🐾 Check them regularly, especially after outdoor time
🐾 Call us if you find a tick or notice lethargy, fever, or appetite changes

Prevention doesn’t take a winter break — and neither do ticks! 🥶🕷️
If you have questions about tick prevention for your pet, we’re happy to help!
