We have exciting news!

Carolina Animal Eye is growing, and we are thrilled to welcome Christina Korb, DVM, DACVO, to our team.

As our practice continues to grow, adding another board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist will allow us to better serve our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians throughout the region.

Dr. Pate will continue seeing patients full-time, and Dr. Korb’s addition will expand our ability to provide timely access to specialized eye care while maintaining the personalized experience our clients and referring partners have come to expect.

Dr. Korb shares our commitment to exceptional patient care, collaboration with the veterinary community, and helping pets maintain the best possible quality of life through specialized eye care.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Korb to Carolina Animal Eye! We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to the many patients and families she will help in the years to come.

Wrapping up week 3 of the ACVO Free Service Animal Eye Exam Event with more incredible service animals and handlers we’ve had the pleasure of meeting along the way 💙🐾

Each week of this event continues to remind us just how special these animals are and how much dedication goes into the work they do every single day. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to support their care, hear their stories, and connect with the people who rely on them most.

Thank you to everyone who has visited us throughout May — we’re honored to be part of this amazing event and look forward to finishing out the month strong.

Did you know that dogs can be trained to wear protective eyewear?

This is Rocky, and his dedicated owner has trained him to wear Rex Specs 🥽💙
Rex Specs are protective eyewear designed for dogs to help shield the eyes from wind, debris, UV exposure, and other environmental irritants during outdoor activity.

Some dogs wear them for hiking, biking, riding in open vehicles, or other environments where their eyes may be at increased risk of irritation or injury.

For certain patients, eye protection can also be a helpful part of an overall management plan, particularly when reducing environmental exposure is beneficial. While not every dog will tolerate eyewear right away, many can be gradually and positively trained with consistency and patience.

We always appreciate owners who take such thoughtful steps to help protect their dog’s eyes. Rocky looks pretty cute protecting his eyes, too 💙

We just had to take a moment to brag on Gator 💙

Gator sees a few different specialists as part of his care, and we’re so grateful to be one of them. He’s been through a lot, and we help manage some of the eye changes that have come along the way—including keeping him comfortable and monitoring his vision.

Through it all, Gator remains the sweetest, most gentle patient. He’s truly a joy to treat every time we see him.

His mom was kind enough to share these photos with us, and we couldn’t help but share him with all of you 🐾
