There are a couple of reasons this happens!

1) As pets age and lose mobility, they aren't able to clean themselves as well. Sometimes urine and f***s gets stuck in fur. Regular clipping and bathing helps prevent this!

2) All pets have a pair of glands by their a**s that releases very odorous liquid, usually when a pet passes f***s. However, these glands can become clogged and need a professional to help manually release them, an issue that can become chronic.

If you have questions about your pet's health please don't hesitate to reach out, and remember we have an excellent grooming partner on site: Scruffy to Fluffy Pet Spa Greenville, who are happy to help!πŸ‘

It's not really a FUN fact, but an important one: fewer than 40% of cats are taken to their vet for regular care. 😿

Annual exams not only keep your cat safe by ensuring they get updated life-saving vaccines, but also give us the opportunity to watch for potentially devastating and costly health issues!

If you have questions about your cat or need to make an appointment please call or message us through our website - we're here to help! 😺

Today's fun fact? Your pet's microchip should be checked TWO ways:

First: at your next visit, ask us to scan your pet to ensure the tiny device is still active and hasn't shifted from where it was placed, and

SECOND: Verify with the microchip's manufacturing database that they have your CURRENT contact info - you'd be shocked at how many people forget to update this!

While raised feeders are great for mobility-challenged pets, be sure to check with your veterinarian to ensure it's right for YOUR pet.

Raised feeders can sometimes increase the chance of bloat in large-breed dogs, so we recommend pairing them with slow feeders.

Often called "rabbit fever," tularemia is a zoonotic disease (which means it can pass from animals to humans). Generally found in rabbits and rodents, it's particularly pernicious for our feline friends. πŸ™€

Watch for fever, lethargy, swollen lymph nodes, and decreased appetite. Contact your veterinarian immediately if you suspect your pet may have contacted tularemia, and ensure you utilize protective equipment like gloves and N95 masks until your pet has been treated and/or cleared of the disease.
