HEARING IMPAIRED – DEAF IN NEED OF RESCUE

Clover’s mom acknowledged that her sister consistently mistreated Clover, and due to that mistreatment, Clover bit her. Unable to pay for Clover's rabies observation, her owner surrendered her. Despite the mistreatment she endured, Clover is a happy, goofy, playful puppy who has already learned to sit and wait patiently for her next treat (see pics). Clover Viola Rose is 3 months old, 23.6lbs, and up to date on her vaccines.

Please contact Jennifer Welch, Rescue Coordinator for Guilford County Animal Services at [email protected] or 336-641-2642 if you have room in your program for Clover.

A good Samaritan found Kit Kat injured and took her to Carolina Veterinary Specialists (CVS). With radiographs, they discovered that Kit has two fractured legs, both on her left side. Her front left leg is an older injury that’s in the process of healing, but her rear left leg appears to be a more recent injury that will require amputation, Kit Kat’s attending doctor explained. She also advised that our little 5-month-old Kit was a wonderful dog with an abundant amount of affection to give. Her staff has completely fallen in love with her and hoped we could help her find her a new beginning.

Please contact Jennifer Welch, Rescue Coordinator with Guilford County Animal Services at 336-641-2642 or [email protected] if you have room in your rescue for this loving little girl.

Seeking Rescue for two Houdini's, otherwise known as Husky brothers Jekyll and Hyde.

On March 8th both Jekyll and Hyde (believed to be brothers) were found running loose by Animal Control and brought to the shelter as strays.

 Hyde is initially reserved when he first meets you, but just as soon as he’s comfortable, which doesn’t take long, he is completely silly! Running, chasing, dodging and play bowing all because he wants you to interact with him! Hyde is a nice dog with the most beautiful brown/blue eyes. He’s 1 years old, 51.0lbs., heartworm negative and up to date on his vaccines.

 Jekyll (white dog) loves to play and bounce until his tongue hangs out, but what he loves more is attention! Jekyll wants to be right next to you, touching you in some way - he is a true loverboy. He’s also 1 years old, 48.6lbs., heartworm positive and up to date on his vaccines.

Please share these boys to help find them Rescue or an appropriate adopter(s) who understands Husky behavior. For more information, please reach out to Jennifer at [email protected].

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!

Thank you to everyone who commented and shared. A wonderful family with Great Dane experience came to the shelter today and adopted her. She will be spayed first then go to her new home with her new family.

Calling all Great Dane lovers - we need your help. Please Share!

Chappell is a lovable, gentle Great Dane who weighs 90 lbs and is just over 2 years old. Though she can be a bit timid when first meeting new people or in unfamiliar environments, she quickly warms up once she feels safe and secure. Once comfortable, Chappell is incredibly affectionate and enjoys bonding with her humans through cuddles and gentle attention. She has a playful side, too – she loves chasing toys and running around the play yard, always eager for a bit of fun. Chappell also has a curious nature and enjoys sniffing around to explore her surroundings. Despite her initial shyness, her sweet and loving personality shines through as she grows more confident in new situations. Plus, she is heartworm negative, making her a healthy and wonderful companion for anyone willing to give her the time and care she needs to flourish.

Chappell has been at the shelter for over 3 weeks now and needs rescue or an approved adopter with Great Dane experience.

For more information please contact Stephani at [email protected].

Seeking Urgent Rescue for 2 Geriatric dogs!

Papa Tom (Poodle and at least 8+ years) and Desdemona (15 years) both have myriad of medical concerns that cannot be treated in a shelter setting. Both are on soft diets, and may be Fospice candidates. Desdemona was owner surrendered due to housing crisis, and Papa Tom was brought to an emergency vet clinic by a Good Sam.

Please share and reach out to Jennifer Welch at [email protected] for information on their medical concerns and diagnosis. We would like to find them a soft landing place by this weekend.

Beautiful fun-loving Jeta has been at the shelter since January 2nd with no home to call own. Sunshine and Midnight have both been at the shelter since January 10th. This is way to long for bunnies to be at loud, active shelter.

Please share so that these adorable bunnies can find a loving family and a welcoming home to call their own. All are available for rescue and/or adoption.

Please reach out to Jennifer at [email protected] if you are a rescue.

Adoptions are open every day from Noon to 4pm, except for Tuesdays when we are closed to the public.

Update: Went to Rescue! Thanks to everyone who shared!

Rescue needed for this sweet shy Tuna!

Tuna was found as a stray and brought to the shelter on January 7th. This adorable little girl is a bit shy and will initially keep her distance from you but even then, you can see that she very much wants to interact with you.

When a staff member made friends and placed her on her lap, she immediately melted and did not want to go back to her kennel. As you can see by the last photo, in her fancy collar for her photo shoot, she is very photogenic and loved the attention.

Tuna is 3 years old, 13.8lbs., heartworm negative and up to date on her vaccines.

If you are interested in helping Tuna find placement, or a home with the appropriate adopter, please contact Rescue Coordinator Jennifer Welch at [email protected]!

Calling all chonky cat lovers and rescues. Meet Calvin!

Calvin was adopted 5 years ago at GCAS as a tiny little kitten and returned to us as a 24-pound cat. Calvin’s owners were moving out of the country and couldn’t travel with him; therefore, he was surrendered on January 9th to the shelter.

Our orange boy is so very handsome and is incredibly sweet - he produces the loudest purrs of gratitude. It’s January now and with your help, he could be beach body ready by summer. Calvin is already neutered, 5 years old, 24.0lbs., FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on his vaccines.

Please reach out to Rescue Coordinator Jennifer at [email protected] for more information on how you can help Calvin find a new home.

We don’t know Rizzo’s back story because she came to us as a stray on the 2nd of October, but we were heartbroken to see what happens when demodectic mange is allowed to flourish. After the mites took over most of Rizzo's body, she became so incredibly itchy that she began to self-mutilated. So, the combination of the mange, a secondary infection, and self-inflicted wounds…Rizzo was miserable. We immediately placed her in a foster home where she’s not only receiving the medications and shampoo therapy she desperately needs but lots of love and attention that she’s probably never had before. Our hope is that there's a rescue out there willing to continue the work we’ve begun with helping Rizzo become the healthy, happy, beautiful girl that we know she can be! Rizzo is 5 months old, 20.4lbs., and up to date on vaccines.

Please contact Jennifer Welch, Rescue Coordinator with Guilford County Animal Services in Greensboro, NC at 336-641-2642 or [email protected] if your organization has room in their program for Miss Rizzo.
