You just might be the missing piece between a shelter dog and their future family 💙

Cynthia is the puppy who needs foster the most. She’s a 5-month-old, 28-pound puppy currently being treated for demodex (not contagious), which has caused her to lose much of her fur 🥺 She’s slowly healing, but recovery is much easier in a home than it is in a busy shelter. We’d love to see her spend the rest of her recovery somewhere she can truly relax.

While every dog at the shelter is hoping for a family, some simply need a quiet place to land while they recover, decompress, or wait for their new home 🐾

Fostering gives them a break from the shelter and helps us make room for the next animal that needs us. Best of all, it’s COMPLETELY free ✅ We provide the food, crate, supplies, and medical care, and you can foster for as little or as long as you’d like.

Found roaming a local apartment complex, Seal has spent the last month proving that she’s ready for a family ❤️

Seal is a 3-year-old, 39 lb girl who came to the shelter as a stray. When she first arrived, she was nervous and unsure of the world around her. With time, patience, and plenty of encouragement, she’s blossomed into a completely different dog 🥰

Recently, Seal got to spend the day away from the shelter and she absolutely shined 🐾 She walked beautifully on leash, enjoyed swimming, played with toys, took treats gently, and even snoozed on the ride back after a fun day out.

Once she’s comfortable, Seal is incredibly affectionate and loves curling up beside her people 🦮 She already knows sit, is treat motivated, and has done well interacting with other dogs at the shelter, where she tends to have a lower-energy play style.

Because she’s still a little timid with new people and environments, Seal would do best in a home without small children. Given a little patience, she rewards you with so much love and trust 🩷

Watching Seal gain confidence has been one of the most rewarding transformations we’ve seen. Now she’s ready for the next step: a family who can continue helping her thrive.

Microwave has finally started to trust at the shelter & is ready for a home of her own 🐾🩷

Microwave is about a year old and was found as a stray on a stranger’s doorstep. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was terrified. She never tried to hurt anyone, she just didn’t know if she could trust the hands reaching toward her 🥺

Over the past several weeks, Microwave has made incredible progress 💙 She now comes to the front of her kennel to greet staff and volunteers, asking for pets in a way she never would have before. She may still flinch sometimes, but each day she grows a little braver.

This young girl has shown us that she’s worth the wait. With patience, gentle encouragement, and plenty of love, she’s slowly becoming the affectionate cat we always knew she could be.

Microwave is looking for a quiet home that will let her continue building confidence at her own pace 🥰 We have no doubt that the person willing to give her that chance will be rewarded with a very special companion.

Cane is looking for a family who will give him lots of cuddles & won’t mind hearing about his day 🐾🤎

Cane is a 10-year-old, 55 lb gentleman was found wandering New Garden Road. He loves to “talk,” whether it’s announcing that treats have arrived, celebrating a walk through a doorway, or saying hello to people and dogs passing by 🥹 His happy little barks are his way of sharing the excitement.

Despite his commentary, Cane is a calm, easygoing companion. He’s a great walker on leash, takes treats incredibly gently, and already knows sit, shake, and clearly speak 🦮 While he enjoys checking in with his person for affection, he’s also content to spend some time exploring on his own.

Cane showed friendly curiosity toward other dogs at the shelter, occasionally barking while keeping a loose body and wagging tail.

If you’re looking for an easy companion with great manners and plenty of personality, Cane is ready to find a home where someone will appreciate everything he has to say ❤️

After 3 months at the shelter, Stacks got a break from all the noise while he waits for a home ❤️

Stacks is a 7-year-old, 53 lb boy with a frosted face, a happy wiggle in his step, and a personality that’s hard not to love. He’s friendly, easy to spend time with, and always excited to make a new friend.

He appears to be housetrained, does great for bath time, and already knows both sit and shake 🥰 Stacks enjoys learning, is motivated by both treats and toys, and seems to genuinely have fun during training sessions.

✅ He’s also done well meeting other dogs at the shelter and loves running the fence line with his canine buddies. Stacks can get a little excited and may jump up or attempt to mount, but he’s easy to redirect and responds well to guidance. Since he’ll be neutered before going home, we expect that behavior to improve once he’s settled into a home.

If you’re looking for a social, easygoing companion who enjoys spending time with both people and dogs, Stacks is ready to leave shelter life behind and start his next adventure 🩷

Our shelter is currently home to 90 dogs waiting in kennels for families of their own 🩷

Every dog here has a different story. Some were found as strays. Some lost the only home they’d ever known because their family moved, faced financial hardship, or could no longer care for them. None of them chose to end up here, but they’re all hoping for the same thing: a home.

Whether you’re interested in adopting or fostering, we’d love to help you find the right match. Fostering is completely free, and we’ll provide the crate, food, supplies, and medical care. You can foster for a weekend, a few weeks, or even longer (and foster families get first dibs if they decide to adopt 😉)

Icicle’s hard past never broke her spirit after losing her left eye… and she’s still waiting for a home 💙

Icicle is a 4-year-old, 39 lb pup who came to us from a difficult situation after being surrendered due to illness. One of her injuries was so severe that her left eye couldn’t be saved, but she hasn’t let it slow her down for a second.

This happy-go-lucky girl is full of personality 🥰 She loves to run, play, and show off her impressive fetch skills, always bringing her toys right back so the fun can keep going 🦮 She’s energetic, may jump up when she’s excited, and is easy to manage thanks to her size.

✅ Icicle has also enjoyed dog playgroups at the shelter, where she’s shown just how much she loves having canine friends to romp around with.

After everything she’s been through, Icicle still greets every day with a wagging tail and a toy in her mouth 🩷 Now she’s ready to find a family that will give her the life she’s always deserved.

Adopted 🥳 Dollar General spent months roaming around a store parking lot before deciding he was ready for a little help 💚

Dollar General is a 3-year-old, 47 lb pup who was reportedly living as a stray near a local Dollar General for several months 😕 Eventually, he made his way inside the store and didn’t want to leave, which led to our Animal Control Officers safely bringing him to the shelter.

Since arriving, Dollar General has shown us what a calm and easygoing guy he is. He walks beautifully on leash with little to no pulling, has a medium-to-low energy level, and is very easy to handle 🦮 He already knows sit, appears to be house trained, and enjoys spending time with people.

Dollar General has done great meeting both children and adults at the shelter. He enjoys getting pets, settles nicely, and is the kind of dog who would happily spend his days relaxing with his people ❤️

After spending so much time on his own, Dollar General is ready for a home where he can finally settle in and be someone’s companion.

Adoption Update 🥳 Oliver Blake couldn’t afford to wait… and thankfully he didn’t have to 🩷

Oliver Blake, formerly known as Cucumber, has been keeping one of our longtime volunteers busy since the day they met.

He came to the shelter as a tiny kitten after losing his mom. Luckily, our volunteer Amanda happened to be there that day and took him and his brother home to bottle feed 🥰 She was already fostering a nursing mom, who stepped in and raised the two kittens like they were her own.

Well… Oliver Blake never left.

These days, he’s a clingy adventure cat who loves hockey almost as much as he loves attention. He spends his time hanging out with his cat and dog siblings, relaxing in the catio, chasing bugs, and making sure his mom knows exactly when it’s time for pets 🐾

He’s also become a pretty great helper. Whenever new foster kittens arrive, Oliver is one of the first to welcome them, helping them build confidence and settle into foster life before they find homes of their own.
