August 20th is World Mosquito Day! This day is meant to bring awareness to mosquito-borne diseases and their concerning impact on global health. 🌎

Here at HSP - we spent the day in a Heartworm Disease Lunch & Learn 📚, and we are taking this opportunity to remind you how heartworms are transmitted to our pets! Heartworm Disease is a very serious, potentially fatal disease that any/all pets can fall victim to. ‼️

We often hear owners say, “We don’t need heartworm prevention - he/she is an inside dog!” But the fact of the matter is that any pet can get heartworm disease. Exposure to just one singular, infected mosquito can lead to a positive heartworm test. Maintaining an annual exam and heartworm test allows you to keep your pets on monthly heartworm preventatives.

Our brave boy, Max, has officially finished his medications and was seen today for his final recheck appointment with Dr. Harrington. ❤️‍🩹

Thank you to everyone who has been following Max’s journey! We are proud to say he has adjusted beautifully to the tripod lifestyle.
