Cornbread is a sweet and loving youngster. This sweet boy wants to be loved and is willing to give you a "paw" to get your attention.
A note from his foster family "He is extremely smart, adjusted quick to a home with 2 other dogs and 2 cats. He warmed up fast and wants nothing more than to be loved on. He deserves the best home!"

We believe Cornbread was born approximately 9/24, weighs 50 lbs. and arrived 3/18/25.

Adoption fees are $125.00 which includes to cost of spay/neuter, microchipping and vaccines. County license is additional if applicable.

Biscuits! What a beauty! As her name would suggest she's quite "the bread maker". This young gal is very sweet and has a gentle demeanor. She's quiet, affectionate and is free roaming in our interactive Room #1 as she is good with other cats.

Bellatrix is a delightful gal. Sweet, energetic personality with nice manners. She plays wonderfully with other dogs.
Important Information:
Dogs that are not yet spayed or neutered are available for "Foster-to-Adopt."
Please note: We only offer fostering to individuals in and around Nevada County.
Our foster-to-adopt program is for dogs awaiting their spay or neuter. During this period, you’ll foster until their spay/neuter surgery is complete, after which the adoption becomes official.
Adoption fee is $125.00. Sammie’s Friends dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and are up to date on their flea, tick and heartworm prevention prior to adoption.

Summer Pawsitive Happenings and Good Vibes! Look who's our "Covergirl" this month!
Layla still waits for her happily ever after!! We are not sure why she keeps getting overlooked. Could it be her color? Her size? She's mellow in the home, a great companion, and has been playing well with dogs in the play yard!! (maybe it's the fact no kitties for her ☹️)

Foxy Cleopatra.

Oh my, what an adorable kitty. We feel she is a young adult, 3ish(?) but weighs a mere 4 lbs.

She is a super duper friendly gal, loves attention and pets. It's hard to take a photo of her as she likes to be "up close and personal" every chance she gets.

Foxy Cleopatra came to us after being found on a property with a wound and matted fur. She has healed nicely and her fur is growing back after her mats were clipped out.

Tweak is a sassy little thing full of spirit and uniqueness! Tweak is young and very friendly with an inquisitive nature. She knows no strangers and is patiently waiting for a place to call home.

This young lady came to us with an injury on her back. After her vet visit we've tried to keep it bandaged to help with healing but Tweak would remove the bandages as fast as we could put them on her. She now proudly wears her Lobster costume which protects her wounded area and she is now healing quickly.

Mica is not enjoying shelter life 😢 It is causing him great stress and anxiety. He NEEDS OUT NOW!
Is there anyone available that could at least give Mica a break from the shelter, even if just for a few days?

Mica is sweet, eager, affectionate, plays very well with other dogs and adores his human.

He is a friendly guy who arrived to Sammie's Friends with his "brother" on 7/1/25. We feel he is approx. 8 months old and weighs 52 lbs.
