Pixel has been in a foster home for a few days now and is doing fabulously! He's been a great house guest and apparently loves to sunbathing. Pixel is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs 37 lbs.

If you would like to meet this "bathing beauty" please call 530-471-5041 to schedule a meet and greet appointment or email [email protected]

Pixel is available to a new home on a foster to adopt basis until his neuter appointment, after which time he is legally adoptable.

Pumpkin King is a very sweet guy who is looking for a soft place to land. After his previous owners became unable to take care of him, he was brought here and was very scared of shelter life. He has since come out of his shell and is super loving and the ideal black cat! He loves head scratches and belly rubs and would make a great lap kitty.

Bram is a young adult male. He loves to play ball, is good with other dogs and is a friendly fellow.

Dogs that are not yet spayed or neutered are available for "Foster-to-Adopt."

Please note: We only offer fostering to individuals in and around Nevada County.

Our foster-to-adopt program is for dogs awaiting their spay or neuter. During this period, you’ll foster until their spay/neuter surgery is complete, after which the adoption becomes official.

Adoption fee is $125.00. Sammie’s Friends dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and are up to date on their flea, tick and heartworm prevention prior to adoption.

Chutes and Ladders

Chutes has been in foster care for a week or so and is doing a great job adjusting to home life and loving all the attention she's receiving from her amazing foster. Her is what her foster mom has to say about this special little girl.

"After a rough start in life, approximately two-year-old Chutes is blossoming into the sweetest little companion. This 30-pound cutie has discovered how delicious treats are and how much fun it is to play with her foster sister. Between play sessions, she loves curling up for a nap on the couch or resting her chin on your lap just to say hello.

Even though humans haven’t always been kind to her, Chutes knows that love and praise from her foster parents feels amazing and trusts humans. She’s learning the ropes of living in a home, taking cues from her doggy foster sister and proving every day how much she wants to be a good girl.

We adore watching her little ears flop as she runs and her stubby tail do its happy wiggle-wag. Chutes enjoys going for walks, sniffing all the good smells, and relaxing in the sunshine."

Orange, what a guy! Just under a year old, Orange is a fan favorite who is very playful yet loves to be held and simply melts in your arms. He is looking for a place to call a home of his own. He would need to go to a home where he will receive lots of play time, as he has loads of energy.
