Tiny paws. Big personalities. 🖤🤍

These little ones will officially be 5 weeks old tomorrow and we honestly couldn’t be more obsessed with this litter. From the bold merle patterns to the soft cream and pink tones, every puppy has their own unique look and personality already starting to shine through.

Watching them grow, explore, play, and develop their little attitudes over the past few weeks has been such a rewarding experience. They’re becoming more confident every single day — and somehow even cuter. 🥹

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

From our family at Gold Country Pugs, we extend our deepest gratitude to the fallen heroes and the families who carry their memory forward. ❤️

She found someone who will take very good care of her!

🚨 Special Home Needed 🚨

We are helping share this post in hopes of finding a loving home for this beautiful chinchilla pug girl. 🩷🐾

To be completely transparent:
This is NOT one of our dogs and she did NOT come from our program. We were simply asked to help network her to find the right home.

She is being placed with no rehoming fee to the right home.

She has been diagnosed with kidney stones and a bladder stone that will require surgery. The good news is that she currently has pet insurance active through February, and the insurance is expected to reimburse for the surgery expenses.

Please understand:
• This will require veterinary follow-up
• Surgery and recovery commitment will be needed
• We are looking for a responsible, stable home only
• She is NOT being offered for breeding

She deserves a family willing to help her through this chapter and give her the care she needs moving forward. 🐶❤️

This handsome little guy has officially found his forever family, and we couldn’t be happier for him. 🩵🐾

Cartier will be joining two very special girls — Hazel & Pippa. Hazel (formerly Teeter from our Yellowstone litter) shares the same mama as Cartier, making this reunion extra special. 🥹

Pippa may not be from our program, but she comes from the same breeder who helped mentor me early on, which makes this feel even more full circle. 💙

There’s something incredibly meaningful about watching these bloodlines and relationships stay connected through generations and families who truly love them. Cartier is already so loved, and we know he’s headed for an amazing home.

This handsome little boy is already turning heads with his gorgeous silver fawn/sable merle coat and soulful eyes. 🩶🐾

From his tiny tongue sticking out to his soft silver shading and subtle merle patterning, Versace is packed with personality and charm already. We can’t wait to watch this little guy grow.

🐾 Cleio’s first litter has officially arrived, and we couldn’t be more proud of this sweet mama. 🩷
Last night she welcomed 5 beautiful puppies into the world — 3 girls and 2 boys.

This gorgeous litter includes:
✨ 2 Tan Points
✨ 2 Fawn/Sables
✨ 1 Brindle

Everyone is doing wonderful so far, and Cleio is already proving to be an amazing first-time mom. 🐶🐾

Rolex will soon be joining two other Gold Country Pugs alumni — Beau & Finn (formerly Jacob & Patrick).

Watching our puppies grow up in loving homes is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, but seeing families come back for another member of the Gold Country Pugs family means the world to us.

One of the most important parts of responsible breeding happens long before puppies are ever born.

Genetic health testing helps breeders better understand the traits, risks, and hereditary conditions that can be passed through bloodlines. It allows for more informed pairing decisions and helps protect the long-term health and well-being of future puppies.

At Gold Country Pugs, health testing is an important part of our program. While no breeder can ever guarantee perfection in any living animal, responsible genetic screening helps reduce preventable risks and supports healthier future generations.

For us, breeding is about far more than color or appearance. Temperament, structure, health, and responsible pairings will always come first.

🧬 Let’s Talk About Merle 🐾

Merle is a naturally occurring coat pattern that creates mottled, marbled, or patchwork coloring in a dog’s coat. In pugs, it can produce some truly unique and beautiful variations in color and markings.

There is a lot of misinformation online surrounding merle, so we believe education and responsible breeding practices are extremely important.

Merle itself is not automatically “bad” or unhealthy. The biggest concerns typically come from irresponsible breeding practices — particularly breeding two merle dogs together, which can significantly increase the risk of serious health issues.

At Gold Country Pugs, our dogs are carefully selected, responsibly paired, and health tested clear. Health, temperament, structure, and proper placement will always come before color.

We also believe families should fully understand both the beauty and the responsibility that can come with unique coat patterns and reduced pigmentation. Transparency matters to us, and we’re always happy to answer questions and educate potential families. 🩷🐾
