This adorable couple is still looking for a home! They’ve been here for a LONG time. We have one adult male and one adult female that live together in the same enclosure. They came to us together with one pair of babies that hatched prior to their arrival with us. We have not had any more babies while they’ve been with us. These guys are so fun to watch, but are more of a “hands off” or “look only” species. They are fast as lightening and can slough their skin and scales off if grabbed and frightened. They are on a diet of Pangea and live bugs, but they will pick the bugs every time. If you’d like to add them to your life, please send us a message or fill out an application! 🦎🦎

New arrivals! 🦎🐍
We have welcomed Queenie, Marko, Tertelinni, and Pebble to the rescue.
- Queenie is a young female Jacksons chameleon that is struggling with some health issues. Chameleons are very fragile and sensitive so we’re going to do our best to fix her up. She’s thin and dehydrated with no appetite but we hope we can turn her around.
- Marko is a young male bearded dragon with no health concerns. He’s spicy and not very tolerant of handling, so that’s our biggest goal with him.
- Tertelinni is a 3 year old sand boa and Pebble is a 1 year old western hognose. Both healthy and quite social.

We recently received the first two photos of a snake that was listed for free on marketplace. Thanks to a wonderful couple people, she is safe with us and on her way to feeling much better. She is a female, and her rescuers gave her the name Dino. She is extremely vitamin deficient and underweight with multiple layers of stuck shed, especially on the eyes and face. After a long soak and gentle help, the stuck shed was removed and she became much more active and comfortable. The shed was clogging her nostrils causing some mouth breathing. Once removed, she began breathing normally through her nose. She had some substrate lodged in her mouth, likely from attempts to remove the shed on her own and rubbing her face in the dirt. The last photo shows her now, looking much brighter! Next step is to get a meal in her belly along with some extra vitamins.
We are very grateful for those who stepped in to get her some help! 💚🐍

Yet another found pet here in West Michigan. 🐢
This is a female three toed box turtle found recently, likely an escaped or dumped pet. This species is not native and doesn’t belong in the wild here. Please share this post to help us find potential owners!
She’s safe with us and getting lots of snacks in the meantime. If she’s yours, please reach out with proof!
Editing to add: This is NOT a native Eastern box turtle. That kind DOES belong here in Michigan. 🙂

New arrivals - Sophie, Flick, Bonsai, Asriel, and Wasabi! 💚
🐍Sophie is a 4 year old female ball python that needed a new place to stay. She has had a full shed and a couple meals with us and is ready for a new home!
🦎Flick is a young blue tongue skink that arrived earlier this week. We will be working on a mouth infection that’s leading to some mucus build up on his lips. Hopefully, he will be available after his treatment.
🦎Bonsai is a 6 year old male crested gecko. He had some scarring from previous mouth rot on his lips, but we do not see any active infection. His previous owner is off to college and wanted to find Bonsai a great home.
🐍Asriel is a 9 year old female ball python that is large and in charge. She is super sweet and one of the bigger females we’ve ever had come through! She is looking for a home as well.
🐸Wasabi is a juvenile African bullfrog transferred from our friends at a different facility to find a permanent home. Wasabi has a large personality and a even larger appetite.

Baby Borat the Russian Tortoise has completed his treatment and is going to be available for adoption! He’s gaining weight and he has completed his antibiotics for his mouth infection. Way to go little man! 🩷 🐢
