Grandma Fancy needs a foster home ASAP!

Fancy is a sweet, chunky-but-little, 14 year old black lab mix with decent mobility. She's currently crashing *temporarily* with a foster who already has two other fosters in addition to her own pack of pups. 🙃

She had her freedom ride today and already got a bath and de-shed on her way home!

She needs her own foster home ASAP so she can decompress and prepare to meet her furever family!

Quinn is a big sweetheart! He just loves hanging out with people. He’s a pretty chill fellow and walks well on leash. He does get playful when around other dogs so we think he would make a great playmate. He is a little overweight, but still moves really well. Once he gets down to his ideal weight he will want to play even more!!

Despite the circumstances, she quickly showed her gentle nature around the young children who discovered her, accepting their loving pets and grateful for their care.

Lady Bug may be shy at first meeting, but once she feels safe and secure, her true personality shines through. Granger is kind of a shy guy when first meeting people, but warms up quickly at our adoption events! He’s gaining more and more confidence every day! He enjoys getting attention and pets from humans and loves to calmly trot alongside you on walks. He has the cutest underbite that reminds us of Pumbaa from The Lion King! Granger would be a great fit for an older retiree/couple who would like a calm, content companion.

Pop-up affordable spay/neuter clinics are essential to the success of our animal welfare efforts in the community 💙

A Denver-based non-profit, Bergen Spay and Neuter Alliance, will host a four-day spay and neuter clinic at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 US-50, today through Aug. 10, to offer discounted spay and neuter services to community members who struggle to afford the procedure for their pets.

The mobile clinic will offer high-quality spay/neuter services to pet owners at a reduced rate for cats and dogs. The clinic will also provide free spay/neuter services for feral cats that community members are caring for.

Spay/neuter your pet at a reduced cost

Requirements:

Help a feral cat for free with the Trap-Neuter-Return program

During the month of August, Grand Rivers Humane Society (GRHS) will be participating along with several hundred other animal shelters nationwide in NBC/Universal’s Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign!


Since its 2015 inception, Clear The Shelters has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find new homes and has raised more than $5 million for participating shelters and rescues✨

As part of the Clear The Shelters campaign, during August, GRHS will continue with its regularly scheduled dog and cat adoption events as outlined in the schedules pictured and below🐶

GRHS will also take the following special initiatives:
Adoption fees for the month of August will be reduced 25% & August 23rd by 50% for both cats and dogs 🐾

The August 23rd adoption event at the Lions Club Park will be a special Clear The Shelters event, with live bluegrass music and a free ice cream social for volunteers, fosters and potential adopters. Adoption fees on August 23rd will be reduced for a whopping 50% off! (one day only)

August Adoption Schedule:

Dogs - Every Saturday (August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30) at the Orchard Mesa Lions Club Park, directly adjacent to the fairgrounds, from 10am-12:30pm💕

Cats - Aug 2nd & 16th at Chow Down GJ 12pm-2:30pm and Aug 23rd at the Orchard Mesa Lions Club Park 10am-12:30pm💕

We are feeling especially grateful after such a heartwarming week! We are still catching our breath after one of the most successful cat adoption events in GRHS history: 16 adoptions in ONE day! 🥳😻

Amongst the incredible adoption madness, we managed to snap photos of most of our lucky kitties, but a few adorable faces slipped through the cracks in all the excitement. We still want to give a huge round of appaws to these honorably mentioned kitties who also found their furrever homes!
✨Not pictured, but adopted✨: Floof, Cassian, Brasso, Sweet Tea, Sq**rt, Levi Boone, Mel, and Molly!

To every adopter, volunteer, and foster who made this day possible, thank you from the bottom of our paws. 🐾❤️ Our hearts our full, and 16 cats are now where they belong- home.
