Today is the day! Our friends Omea and Georgie are having their big Grand Forks Corgi Benefit Bash starting at 4pm today at Lincoln park.

We will have booth set up with rescue merch, information and even a couple stand in 'corgis for a day' rescue pups!

Your advocacy for this pup made all the difference in what her life will be going forward. Since you getting her into our care she has blossomed, quickly became a volunteer favorite and always ready to take a walk with a smile on her face.

Welcome to Journey Home Scooby!

Scooby is a sweet as sugar pup with a heart full of joy and a tail that neve quits wagging!

This playful boy is happiest when he is chasing balls, splashing in the water or romping with his doggy friends. He is also one smart cookie who loves treats so training with him is just as fun as playtime! After playtime, Scooby is all about cozy snuggles and belly rubs.

✨ Update & Thank You! ✨

A huge thank you to Homeward Animal Shelter for being able to accept the darker chocolate dog, momma dog, and her older pup from yesterday's post! 💕

We also have temporary safety secured for the male pittie and the 2 scared female dogs. Even better — we’ve already received a couple of foster applications and are hopeful they’ll be a great fit so these 3 can settle into foster homes quickly. (They are all smaller than anticipated and, despite their rough start, are proving to be so friendly! 🐾)

Unfortunately, the work doesn’t stop here. The other rural pound we assist is also at capacity, with more than 7 dogs in kennels. Next week, we’ll be working hard to secure fosters for them too.

Thank you to everyone who shares, fosters, donates, or networks these dogs. It truly takes a village, and because of you, these dogs have a chance. 🐶❤️

Hi, I’m Glinda and I’m a sweet, playful, and very silly girl. Some things I love: pets (belly rubs are not a trick!), playing (with anything), zoomies (I’m so fast!), playing with my sister (I get along great with other cats), and looking out the window.
As you can see, I’m a very busy girl but no matter what I’m doing, I’m always glad to see you! When you pet me, my purrs are loud and my kisses generous. I sure would love to find my forever home, will that be you?

Today is National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day and we want to remember and honor those who brought joy and love to our lives while we were fortunate enough to love them.

Losing a pet is difficult and in Rescue we understand what an impact animals have on our lives. Today is a day to remember the ones we loved and lost.

🚨 HELP NEEDED BY NOON FRIDAY 🚨

One of the rural dog catchers we work with is at full capacity and desperately needs our help. By Friday, we need to place at least 6 dogs so he can continue taking in strays who need him.

Here are the dogs in need:
🐾 2 very sweet, medium-sized dogs
🐾 2 scared, medium-sized dogs found starving along a road
🐾 1 momma and her older pup who are no longer wanted

Without rescue, these dogs do not have another way out. 💔
We currently fo not have these dogs in our care.

The reality is heartbreaking and stressful — but it’s also the truth of what’s happening with the overwhelming number of unwanted dogs in North Dakota (and everywhere else right now). This is why spaying and neutering is so critical.

✨ Foster homes and rescue placement are the ONLY chance for these dogs to leave alive. If you can open your home, even temporarily, you will be saving a life.

Journey Home Animal Rescue was founded by a group of dedicated animal rescue individuals when they recognized the need for a strong, supportive, foster based rescue to serve Grand Forks, ND and the surrounding areas. With the establishment of Journey Home to the area, we will be able to strengthen rescue networks across the region, and bridge the gap between the animals in need and those who want to help. Journey Home's foundation is built on the passion of helping animals and embracing the caring people who want to help. To be a part of an animal's journey to a better life, to love, to provide safety, to their forever home, is something truly special and what animal rescue is all about.
