𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑻𝒂𝒊𝒍 🐾

When Brutus came to us, his corkscrew tail had been painfully growing inward for a very long time, causing a severe infection. He received the surgery and care he needed, but the years of neglect left lasting damage to his body.

Now renamed Bru-Bear, he’s facing health challenges that may mean he has a year or less to live.

Each day he has left will continue to be filled with love, comfort, and happiness. His mom is dedicated to giving him the best quality of life possible, from homemade meals and gentle care to soft beds, belly rubs, and endless affection. He soaks up every moment, leaning in for pets and enjoying time with his furry siblings.

Brutus didn’t deserve the pain he endured, but now he's being spoiled and living the best life. However much time he has left, he will spend it as a cherished, happy, and deeply loved member of his family. Thank you to everyone who helps make second chances like his possible. ❤️🐾

The first inaugural Grand Forks Corgi Benefit Bash is just two weeks away, and we are SO excited for this event!

URGENT:

We are getting in an estimated 25 cats and kittens from a hoarding situation today! We are already strained with the number of strays and abandoned cats in our care. Please be patient with our staff today as we work our magic to create space we don't have, out of thin air, to help these cats get the care they desperately need!

We are asking for the community's help. Here’s how you can make a difference:

Adopt: We are having a name-your-adoption-price on all cats and kittens, and $50 adoption fees for all dogs, so we can continue to help more pets in our community that need our support. If you are interested in visiting or adopting a pet, please stop out to the shelter as we are unable to respond to all Fb comments.

Donate: We are already running low on non-clumping litter, hand towels, wash clothes, and non-latex gloves. Please consider donating these items to COF at any Hugo's location or at our shelter location at 4375 N. Washington Street!

Foster: Once we get enough supplies donated and the cats examined and situated, we'll need foster homes! Have you loved a dog reactive dog? Maybe you’ve adopted one from Circle of Friends, or you currently share your home with one. Now’s your chance to brag them up!

Share your stories, tips, and tricks for living with a dog-reactive pup. What has helped you the most? How has your dog changed your life for the better? Your advice might inspire a future adopter and help one of our waiting pups finally find their person.

We want to show our community that dogs who don’t want doggy friends are not broken, they’re just different. They’re still just as loving, goofy, and loyal as any other dog.

Right now, we have a few dogs in the shelter who would LOVE to hog all the attention in their new home. Sadly, we think this personality quirk might be what’s holding them back from finding families.

Help us show their future humans that with the right guidance, having a dog-reactive dog isn’t as life-altering as people think, and it can be incredibly rewarding.

These pets were brought to the shelter recently as strays and are looking for their owner(s). If you are the owner or know the owner(s), please contact us by emailing [email protected] or calling 701-775-3732. Proof of ownership must be provided, such as photos, vet records, etc.

Please understand we are limited on staff and time, we are unable to respond to comments or messages.

If you are looking to claim a lost pet, or are interested in meeting and reserving an animal on stray hold, please stop by the shelter located at 4375 N. Washington St., Grand Forks.

𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

We have been trying our best to lower our capacity so we can assist our community with safely rehoming their pets. Our goal is to reduce the number of pets being abandoned by their owners and dumped.

Here's the thing, though. On average, we get 3-4 stray pets in every day. Every time we lower our capacity, our kennels and cages are filled back up almost immediately with stray pets who are not getting claimed. This cycle is making it increasingly difficult to assist the public with rehoming their pets. We are back at maximum capacity despite having lots of adoptions and several adoption events. We are at capacity with both dogs and cats.

Here is how you can help.

𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀. Overcrowding in shelters is a result of pets not being spayed and neutered.

𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁. We have so many pets available for adoption. From 8 weeks to 15 years, from snuggle bugs to energetic go-getters, we have them all and we know you'll find your perfect match.

𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿. Fostering for us helps us open up space and helps to lower our capacity. If you are interested in fostering, please email [email protected]. At 15 years old, W***y has perfected the art of cuddling. ❤ He enjoys wandering around and exploring, but his absolute favorite place in the world is right in your arms. This sweet senior has been with us for 3 weeks now, patiently waiting for someone to give him the forever home (and endless snuggles) he deserves.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion to fill your days with purrs and lots of love, W***y is ready to be your new best friend. 🐱💕
