Scruffy Tails Humane Society was founded as a 501c(3) in January 1982, with the desire to help animals in our community.

We help the animals in our care by reuniting them with their owners or we find them loving forever homes.

🎉🐾 SUCCESS STORY SATURDAY! 🐾🎉

We have even more happy tails to celebrate this week! 6 Scruffy Tails residents officially traded shelter life for HOME! ❤️🏡

🐱 Cats: Daisy, Weasley, McGonagall, Ginny & Toad

Six animals. Six fresh starts. Six families made a little more complete. 🥹❤️

A huge THANK YOU to each of their adopters for choosing adoption and opening their homes and hearts to a shelter animal. Every adoption also opens up space for another animal in our community who may need us next.

And, as always, thank you to our fosters, volunteers, donors, supporters, and everyone who shares our animals—you all play a part in making these happy endings possible. 🐾

Here’s to Scarlett, Daisy, Weasley, McGonagall, Ginny & Toad and all the adventures ahead!

🐾💜 THANKFUL THURSDAY: KITTEN YOGA EDITION! 🧘‍♀️🐱

We’re feeling extra thankful this Thursday after an amazing Kitten Yoga at Lotus Yoga in Grand Forks!

A huge THANK YOU to Lotus Yoga Health & Wellness Studio for welcoming Scruffy Tails and our kittens into your beautiful space, and to everyone who came out to stretch, snuggle, play, and support our shelter animals. 💕

The room was full, the kittens made themselves right at home on the mats, and we’re pretty sure they completely misunderstood the assignment. 😂🐾

Events like this are so much more than a fun evening—they introduce our animals to new people, help socialize our kittens, raise funds for their care, and bring our mission beyond the shelter walls.

Thank you, Lotus Yoga, and thank you to everyone who joined us and supported Scruffy Tails. We hope to see you again for another kitten-filled class! 🐱🧘‍♀️💜

They were found near the Care and Share.

If you recognize them or know who they belongs to, please contact the CPD as soon as possible so we can get them back home!

🐾 What a Week! Thank You, Crookston! 🐾

Last week was a busy one for Scruffy Tails, but we had such a great time being part of Ox Cart Days! ❤️

We loved seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, and—of course—watching everyone get some kitten and puppy snuggles in. 🐱🐶 There’s nothing better than getting our animals out into the community and seeing how much love they receive.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our booth, visited with the animals, donated, asked about adoption, or simply came over to say hello. Your support means so much to our shelter and the animals in our care.

And a special shoutout to the young entrepreneurs at the Lemonade Sweet Treats stand for including Scruffy Tails in their Ox Cart Days fun! 🍋💛

We’re tired, grateful, and already looking forward to next year! 🐾

🖤🐈‍⬛ NATIONAL BLACK CAT APPRECIATION DAY 🐈‍⬛🖤

Today is all about celebrating the little house panthers we know and love! 🖤

Black cats are beautiful, mysterious, goofy, cuddly, mischievous, and full of just as much personality and love as any other cat. Yet they can sometimes spend longer waiting for someone to notice just how special they are.

So today, we’re giving them the spotlight they deserve! ✨🐾
