Common household items like certain plants, foods, and cleaning supplies can be toxic to pets. This National Animal Safety and Protection Month, take a moment to check your home for hidden dangers.

Last but certainly not least, we are celebrating our newest vet assistant Gracie! She is a fresh face at Grace, but she is ready to help you take the best possible care of your furry family members. She graduated from NC State with her degree in Animal Science, is proud mama to her beautiful little girl, and her faith and family mean everything to her. Help us welcome Gracie and thank her for making our team even better every day!

Help us thank Tara, vet assistant, for her hard work and positivity every day! She has been with us for a short while and really jumped in and became part of the team so quickly-- those of y'all lucky enough to have met her already know how kind she is. Her birthday is on leap year, she recently got back into reading in her spare time, and she has two Dachshunds at home as well as her Eskimo dog pictured, Mia (don't let her innocent face cool you, Mia is a firecracker!). Leave a note below to welcome and thank Tara!

Help us celebrate Haley next for Vet Tech Week: Haley has her husband of six years, five fur-babies (including her heart-dog, Lucy), and two precious boys to look after when she isn't taking care of your pets at Grace! She loves to travel and spend time in the mountains in her free time. Thank you Haley, for always being patient and willing to listen, and for your hard work all year round.

Now we are celebrating Morgan for tech week-- Morgan is our in-house lab troubleshooting maven, and she loves to see a Doberman coming (she has two at home, Bindi and Melvin). She is especially skilled at taking dental radiographs and monitoring your pets when they are under anesthesia for procedures. When she isn't looking after your babies, she loves to spend her time hiking, reading fantasy books, playing video games, or going to awesome concerts! Leave a note for Morgan to thank her for her dedication to pets and their people year-round!

We're celebrating vet assistant Taylor next for Vet Tech week! She makes all of the fun videos you see on our social media, creates educational materials for our front lobby TV, and loves to see a Great Dane walk into the clinic. She is fear-free certified, loves to do dental cleanings and take dental x-rays, and she is going to school to gain her RVT certification. Thank you Taylor for always keeping us young and making us smile-- you keep learning and growing and making Grace better! Help us say thank you in the comments to Taylor for her hard work.

Grace Animal Hospital will be closed tomorrow, October 22nd, from 12-2 PM for a staff meeting and our yearly Vet Tech Olympics celebration to thank our team for their hard work year-round with some healthy competition! If your pet needs emergency care during that time, please contact Carolina Vet Specialists in Charlotte at 866-968-4697 or Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Charlotte at 980-880-6062. Thank you! P.S. doesn't Indo look so cute in his Doggles for his laser treatment?!
