🕷️🌍 It’s World Tarantula Day and we’re celebrating our eight-legged ambassadors here at Moody Gardens by shining a spotlight on these fascinating and often misunderstood creatures.

Tarantulas play a vital role in their ecosystems by keeping insect populations in check, acting as natural pest control. Their venom is currently being researched for its potential in developing new medicines, and their silk has inspired innovations in textile production. While they are venomous, most tarantula species pose little to no threat to humans. Their bites are typically mild and don’t require medical attention.
