📚🍋Enjoyed educating the young entrepreneurs at the Step Up for Education/Lemonade Day Kickoff last night on the importance of providing quality care for your pets entire life. They guessed how much it cost for a single sick vet visit, the annual cost of a single pets care and the lifetime cost of care. 💵We also shared with them a bucket list of things they can do with their pets on Galveston Island 🪣🏝️as well as the importance of donating to our Fair Winds Fund for families who may fall on troubled times and need assistance with their senior pets or saying goodbye. 💰💔Finances do not determine how much you love your pet and they still deserve the best care in their golden years. The kids also wrote down the names of the pets they had lost but remain in their hearts and posted them on our honor boards. 🌈🐾Such a great opportunity to connect to the next generation of Galveston leaders. 👩🏻‍🎓🙏🏻

I am here to express my gratitude for everything this outstanding community has done to support our little independent veterinary service located on Galveston Island. Your referrals, your social media posts, your reviews, they are all greatly appreciated, and it has been our pleasure at Fair Winds to serve you - we have met so many great human beings and wonderful pet lovers. ❤️

It's so important as a pet parent to know that the families who come to us for guidance become a part of a bigger family of care so that difficult times don't also have to be experienced alone.

Pets are so good to us, and it's our responsibility to be the best for them. Make plans to spend more quality time with your pets this holiday season and beyond. They are the purest living beings!

For anyone who may remember, 10 years ago I helped a dog named Duke cross the rainbow bridge in Spring, TX. A short story with pictures featuring the journey went viral for the photographer, Ms. Robyn Arouty. If you haven't seen Duke's story, "I died today.", grab your tissues, it's both heartwarming and bittersweet, and definitely unforgettable. 🙏
