Welcome to Fresno Humane Animal Services

Fresno Humane Animal Services was founded by a group of like minded people who have been involved in animal welfare for decades. Our goal is to serve the animals and residents of Fresno County and, as of October 1, 2015 we will be providing animal control services for Fresno County. Our focus is on education, animal reunification, adoption, and community safety. We will work every day to save as many lives as possible and to make Fresno County a place that can be looked upon as an example of what a community can do when it comes together to improve the lives of the animals in it.

🍁🐾 The Giving Tree Adoption Promo is here! 🐾🍁 Starting November 2nd - 30th 2026

This November, every adoption comes with a little extra surprise! When you adopt an already altered dog or cat, you'll have the chance to pick a leaf from our Giving Tree and reveal a mystery discount on your adoption fee. ❤️

A special thank you to the talented CUSD students whose artwork is featured throughout this year's Giving Tree flyers. We are so excited they were able to be part of this promotion and help showcase the creativity and compassion of our community. Their beautiful artwork helped bring our Giving Tree to life! 🎨❤️

💜🐾 Today we honor the pets who are no longer with us, but whose love remains forever. Our staff created this beautiful ofrenda as a tribute to the cherished companions who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Each photo, memory, and candle represents a life that mattered and a bond that can never be broken.

Though they may be gone from our sight, they live on in our hearts, our memories, and the countless ways they changed our lives for the better. Today, we remember them with love, gratitude, and the promise to never forget. 🕯️🌼🐾

We invite our community to stop by, reflect, and celebrate the lives of these beloved companions. Our ofrenda will be available for viewing during shelter hours, and we welcome anyone who would like to pay their respects, share a memory, or simply spend a quiet moment honoring the pets who touched our lives.

🐾🖤 Meet Bonnie! 🖤🐾

If you're looking for a dog that turns heads wherever she goes, allow us to introduce Bonnie.

This stunning all black German Shepherd is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Still fairly new to the shelter, Bonnie is learning the ropes and taking everything in stride while she waits for the family she's meant to call her own.

When she's out in the yard, Bonnie's happy, bouncy personality shines through. She loves exploring her surroundings, following interesting scents, and checking out everything the world has to offer. You can tell she's curious, eager, and ready to experience life alongside someone special.

One thing we've already noticed about Bonnie is that she seems excited to learn. Whether it's practicing skills like "shake" or "down," engaging her mind appears to be just as rewarding as stretching her legs. With a little guidance and consistency, we think this smart girl will truly thrive.

Bonnie deserves more than a shelter kennel. She deserves adventures, new experiences, and a family that will help her discover just how wonderful life can be.

✨ Stunning ✨ Smart ✨ Curious ✨ Eager to Learn ✨ Adventurous ✨ Ready for a Fresh Start

🐾 Bonnie 🆔 A0061914313 🐕 German Shepherd 🎂 2 years old ⚖️ 60 lbs 📍 Fresno Humane Animal Services

Somewhere out there is a person looking for a loyal companion, a hiking buddy, a best friend, and a dog to share life's adventures with. We have a feeling Bonnie is looking for that person too. ❤️

🐾✨ Meet Torta! ✨🐾

Torta has been waiting a little longer than we'd like, but you'd never know it by her spirit. Every day, this beautiful girl greets the world with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and the belief that her family is still out there waiting to find her. ❤️

This young Shepherd mix is the definition of a social butterfly. In playgroup, Torta gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets and is always ready to make a new friend. Whether she's joining the fun, exploring her surroundings, or simply soaking up attention from her human friends, she's happiest when she's part of the action.

Kennel staff describe her as a very sweet, well behaved girl with an eager and enthusiastic personality. She moves through life with a loose, wiggly body, a soft expression, and a joyful energy that's impossible not to love. And let's be honest, that gorgeous black and tan coat doesn't hurt either! ✨

Torta is the kind of dog who is ready for whatever adventure comes next. Weekend hikes? She's in. Neighborhood walks? Absolutely. Cozy evenings with her favorite people? Even better.

✨ Social ✨ Sweet ✨ Playful ✨ Friendly ✨ Adventurous ✨ Ready for a forever home

🐾 Torta 🆔 A0061759453 🐕 Shepherd 🎂 4 months old ⚖️ 33 lbs ✅ Spayed 📍 Fresno Humane Animal Services

Torta has been patiently waiting for her turn. Let's help make sure the next person who walks through our doors is the one who takes her home. 🏡❤️

🐾🤍 Meet Carter! 🤍🐾

This handsome young German Shepherd has a stunning coat, gentle eyes, and a sweet personality that's impossible not to love. While he's still settling in and building his confidence, Carter has shown us just how well mannered and friendly he is with other dogs.

During playgroup, Carter is happy to socialize and gets along nicely with everyone. He's the kind of pup who doesn't need to be the center of attention. More often than not, you'll find him relaxing on the turf, taking in his surroundings while politely allowing other dogs to come up and introduce themselves.

Though he's still a little timid, we have a feeling Carter's goofy and lovable personality is just waiting to bloom. Every day he seems a little more comfortable, a little more confident, and a little more ready to show the world who he is.

✨ Sweet ✨ Goofy ✨ Personable ✨ Playful ✨ Dog Friendly ✨ Ready for a fresh start

At just 7 months old, Carter has his whole life ahead of him. All he needs now is a family willing to help him feel safe, loved, and cherished as he grows into the incredible companion we know he's meant to be.

🐾 Carter 🆔 A0061930537 🐕 German Shepherd 🎂 7 months old ⚖️ 28 lbs 📍 Fresno Humane Animal Services

Carter is ready to trade shelter life for cozy beds, daily adventures, and people to call his own. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the loving home he's been waiting for? ❤️
