The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of f***l matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more then our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. For the love of the animals we serve. It

is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. We moved beyond the discussion phase and filed the paperwork necessary to become a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with the state of California and the Federal Government. It is a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey and we hope to post MANY happy endings on this blog. The animals are already arriving......stay tuned .....we have only just begun!

After being blessed with the burden of loving animals so deeply, rescue has become a way of life for most of us here at ACT. I have personally seen so much, yet somehow, the heartbreak seems to hurt even more now than it did at the beginning of my journey. While much of the sparkle has faded from my eyes, my heart still loves so deeply—always trying to make sense of and find hope in a world I cannot heal. Our hearts are riddled with scars, each one left behind by an animal we loved and could not save.

This morning, we had to say goodbye to Molly. Medical complications left us with no other humane choice, and we are heartbroken. She was such a wonderful dog who would have made someone the very best friend. She was so close to finally having a family and a safe place to call home. There are so many incredible dogs like Molly waiting in shelters for someone to see them and give them a chance. Please, when you are ready to welcome a new friend into your life, always consider adoption. We could not give Molly the future we dreamed of for her, but we can honor her by continuing to fight for those who are still waiting. Rest peacefully, sweet Molly. You were deeply loved. ❤
