After being blessed with the burden of loving animals so deeply, rescue has become a way of life for most of us here at ACT. I have personally seen so much, yet somehow, the heartbreak seems to hurt even more now than it did at the beginning of my journey. While much of the sparkle has faded from my eyes, my heart still loves so deeplyโalways trying to make sense of and find hope in a world I cannot heal. Our hearts are riddled with scars, each one left behind by an animal we loved and could not save.
This morning, we had to say goodbye to Molly. Medical complications left us with no other humane choice, and we are heartbroken. She was such a wonderful dog who would have made someone the very best friend. She was so close to finally having a family and a safe place to call home. There are so many incredible dogs like Molly waiting in shelters for someone to see them and give them a chance. Please, when you are ready to welcome a new friend into your life, always consider adoption. We could not give Molly the future we dreamed of for her, but we can honor her by continuing to fight for those who are still waiting. Rest peacefully, sweet Molly. You were deeply loved. โค
