We're thrilled to announce a major milestone in our blunt-nosed leopard lizard recovery project! This spring, Fresno Chaffee Zoo's Conservation team released our 100th lizard as part of our efforts to rebuild the Panoche Plateau population. This individual was one of more than 40 lizards released this year as we work with partners to learn more about this unique California species. Today we celebrate these amazing birds that are often thought of as 'ordinary' or pests. Pigeons have an incredible history as long distance messengers, and include several unique and interesting species from around the world including the Nicobar pigeon and pied imperial pigeon.
