PUPPIES AVAILABLE!

Our five golden retriever mix puppies made their debut today at Puppy Yoga, and they are cute, friendly, and looking for their forever people. There are three females and two males. Their mom was a purebred golden retriever, and they were sired by “the neighbor’s dog.” 🤷🏼‍♀️ They are 15 weeks old. Please visit them 12-4 pm, Tuesday-Sunday. We are so thrilled to announce that our longest dog resident, Potato, has been adopted!

We would like to extend our gratitude to many people.

Thank you to every donor to the shelter. Your support makes extended animal stays possible.

Thank you to the staff who have cared for Potato with the same love and attention they give to their own pets at home.

Thank you to High Flying Huskies for allowing Potato to run with the team, showcasing his trainability and intelligence.

Thank you to the young family who, after the loss of their beloved dog who had been adopted from FFHS, donated the adoption fee for Potato and another dog at the shelter.

Thank you especially to the adopter, who saw through Potato’s overzealous kennel attitude and found his true nature. And even more, the adopter has chosen to “pay it forward” and donate the adoption fee for another dog in our care.

We will miss you, Potato, but we are so glad to see you get the life you deserve with a wonderful new family.

Meet Louis, an 8-9 month old male Black Mouth Cur mix! He’s new to FFHS, but these pics are from his former foster home before arriving at Friends Forever.

According to his former foster mom, Louis “is fearless, adventurous, intelligent, athletic, and, best of all, a total snuggle bug. What makes Louis so special? His versatility! He would make an amazing companion for dogs, cats, kiddos, or adults. He LOVES having fur friends to play with, but he's just as happy being your personal entertainer or cuddly sidekick. Louis is kennel trained and the sweetest, quietest gentleman when he's in his kennel. He adores toys (especially balls!) and loves to keep them in his kennel for company.”

Meet Kaboodle!!

She is an 8-yrs, 3-mos, Domestic Longhair mix. Kaboodle was found as a stray in Freeport, IL, and then lived a quiet life for 7-½ years with one owner, when she was released due to the health of her owner. She needed to be shaved upon intake, leaving her looking like a queen dressed in velvet with her soft, black fur. Kaboodle enjoys a quiet life and is a perfect, laid back companion.
