It’s road construction season! For any of our patients traveling from the east, west, or south, you will not be able to turn off highway 20 onto highway 73 north. You also cannot get to highway 20 from highway 73 to the south. There are alternate routes, but they will add a few minutes to your drive time! We suggest that anyone coming from the east or west turn north on Stagecoach Trail, then left on Townline Road to get back on highway 73. For anyone coming from the south, things are a little trickier. From highway 73 you can either go west on Dublin road to Kent road, which then goes north back up to highway 20, or you can turn in Pearl City on Pearl City road and come up to highway 20 on either Rink or Bolton roads. Please plan for extra time when coming to the clinic and be patient with road crews as they work to complete the project! We are not sure how long things will take but are hopeful that everything stays on schedule!

This month’s Testimonial Tuesday is from Carl Lingle. He had a cow with a vaginal prolapse, but she still needed to calve yet. With a special blow-out stich the cow was able to have her calf safely.

“Brandon and Abe did some nifty stitching on one of our cows and we had a successful healthy calf out of it. Thanks to them we saved the cow and calf. Thank you guys!”

We have a new veterinarian on our team!!!

Dr. Will Marquardt grew up in Oconomowoc, WI with his family hailing from Hayward, WI. After earning his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he lived in the Pacific Northwest and gained veterinary experience with small ruminants, camelids, pigs, and chickens. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2025 and started at Lena Veterinary Clinic shortly afterwards. As a mixed animal practitioner, he is happy to provide production animal medicine and surgery, as well as small animal care. He enjoys reading history, fishing, hunting, skiing, traveling, and live-music.

This month’s Testimonial Tuesday is from Triangle Acres.

“Our cows are very important to us at Triangle Acres. A lot of what we do to care for them involves the services we utilize. The Lena Vet Clinic has played a long standing role in our health and herd management. Most recently we had a cow very sick from mastitis. We caught it quickly and called for assistance from Dr. Brandon. Unfortunately the cow did not respond as we’d hoped from the initial treatment and was down the next morning. She was then treated again by the Lena Vet Clinic and Bob Winning was contacted to assist with flotation services. We’re happy to say the cow made a full recovery and is back in the herd good as new. They say it takes a village, and that’s no lie. We’re very thankful the Lena Vet Clinic is a part of ours!”
