We love these updates — photos of pups who are one year, two years, even ten years out, still living their best lives. Still making their families laugh and wonder how they ever did life without them.

Eight days.

Eight days until this litter heads home, and I'm already feeling it — that mix of excitement for the families and that quiet that settles in after a litter leaves. Every time.

Here's what the families taking these pups home are walking into: a 9-week-old Basset who has been raised inside this house from the day they were born. They know the vacuum cleaner, the washing machine, kids, other dogs, car rides, grass, gravel, and hardwood floors. They're paper trained. They've been handled daily. They know what it feels like to be held, examined, and loved.

They're not just cute — they're prepared. And so is every family that goes through our process.

Poor confirmation, line breeding, and high-volume litters create dogs that suffer.
