* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southeastern Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
Northwestern Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...

Southwestern Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 615 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Massbach, or
15 miles northwest of Mount Carroll, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Mount Carroll, Savanna, Stockton, Hanover, Elizabeth, Woodbine,
Massbach, Loran, Mississippi Palisades State Park, Whitton, North
Hanover, Wacker, Elizabeth Fairgrounds, Center Hill, Willow,
Stockton Airport, Elmoville, Camp Far Horizons, and Canyon Camp.

This also includes Mississippi Palisades State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Details

At 857 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Jo Daviess County Fairgrounds to near Pearl City
to near Shannon, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Freeport, Mount Carroll, Lena, Stockton, Lanark, Pearl City, Shannon,
Nora, Buena Vista, Loran, Kent, Waddams Grove, Eleroy, Damascus, Lake
Le-Aqua-
na State Park, Mc Connell, Willow, Apple River Canyon State Park, and
Bolton.

This also includes Apple River Canyon State Park and Lake Le-Aqua-
Na State Recreation Area.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading

extending from near Apple River to Kent to near Mount Carroll,
moving east at 50 mph.

River, Winslow, Rock City, Ridott, Nora, Buena Vista, Rock Grove,
Oneco, Orangeville, Damascus, Mc Connell, Scioto Mills, Winneshiek,
and Stephenson County Fairgrounds.
