Every day, we’re invited into homes, backyards, farms, and barns. We meet people from different backgrounds, different families, and different walks of life. What connects them all is love. Love for the animals who share their lives, and the hope that they will be met with kindness when they ask for help.

Every person and every pet deserves that.

This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the people, businesses, organizations, and advocates who help create a community where more people feel safe, supported, and seen. Though we know that the work of building belonging doesn’t happen in a single month. It happens every day, in the spaces we create for one another and in the ways we choose to show up for our neighbors.

We’re honored to be part of that work, not only in our personal lives as members of this community, but as a team dedicated to increasing access to veterinary care and creating a space where animal lovers can come exactly as they are, without fear of judgement.

Compassionate Care Camp...where education and experiences collide!

Four weeks of the Fred SPCA Compassionate Care Camp have already sold out, and the remaining sessions are filling quickly. Spots are limited and expected to go fast, so families are encouraged to register soon if they want to join the fun!

If your kids are counting down the days until summer break and love animals, this is the camp for them.

Campers will get hands on with dogs and cats, learn what it takes to care for pets every day, explore real animal related careers, and go behind the scenes at the Fredericksburg SPCA. Each day is packed with interactive activities, engaging discussions, and plenty of opportunities to learn how to be kind, confident animal advocates.

We had the sweetest visit yesterday at The Playful Paws Retreat caring for Charley, Zena, and Tucker 🐶✨

With the birds chirping, a soft breeze, and a relaxing backyard oasis.. this happy trio enjoyed lots of treats and thorough, unhurried care right where they’re most comfortable.

We’re so grateful to have connected with Mrs. Sweet-Allison and can’t recommend her enough. She is so kind-hearted and has created something really special, a loving retreat for pets in the Fredericksburg area that truly is a home away from home.
