Hazel is the final puppy from her litter who is searching for the just-right-fit. From being rescued with her siblings from under a trailer at three weeks old, to going to a loving foster home, Hazel truly appreciates being saved and shows her appreciation with hugs, kisses, playing and snuggles. She loves all people and does great with other dogs. Hazel is smart and knows to kennel herself when it’s time for humans to work, and thinks sleeping in bed close to her crew is the best. Hazel is about three months old, weighs around 20 pounds, and is a beautiful mixed breed. We only know that her mom is about 40 pounds and has similar coloring to Hazel. Hazel and other adoptable dogs are attending our public meet and greet this Sunday in Fort Atkinson at Sunday Fundsday. You can fill out an application for her at paddyspaws.blogspot.com

Heidi was the best mom to her five puppies and helped keep them safe on the street until they all could be rescued. Most of her puppies have found forever homes in Wisconsin and now it's mom's turn to find her happily-ever-after. Heidi is approximately two years old and weighs about 40 pounds. She has a wonderful, sweet personality and would love an equally wonderful family. Her breed is unknown, but her medium size makes for a great family dog! She is potty trained, dog social and full of two year old fun energy! She loves to run and play with other dogs, but also can rest nicely in a kennel if needed. She hasn't lived with cats or small children. Fill out an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com Adoptable dogs, like Heidi, will be at a public meet and greet in Fort Atkinson called Sunday Fundsday on June 13th from 3:00-4:30.

King is a super sweet and well mannered three month old puppy. He is very social and has met lots of different people and other dogs. He is trusting and a complete doll. We don't know what breeds make up his family tree, but we think that he will grow up to be a medium sized dog. King will need to be altered at six months of age and will need to attend puppy classes too. King is planning to attend the Sunday Fundsday Meet and Greet event in Fort Atkinson on June 13th. The "A-named" litter are each looking for an adopter. Pictured here are Angel, Arizona, Allie, and Astro. Ace, Apollo, and Archer and the other available pups. Their mom was rescued while pregnant so they have only known the love and care of a foster home. They are super sweet and social. Due to Their small size they are approved for homes with children age 8 and older. Like most rescues, their breed is unknown and their adult size is a best guess but mom is approximately 10 pounds. Puppies require a flexible schedule and regular socialization to become a happy, healthy pooch! Adopters of puppies must alter them at six months and take them to puppy classes per the adoption contract. Fill out an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com

Smile! You’re coming to Wisconsin!

These lucky dogs just found out that they have the trip of a lifetime this weekend. Let’s make their day even better by finding them a forever home!

Because we are foster based, these adoptable mugs will live in a loving home until the perfect forever is found. They aren’t in a hurry and neither are we...quality and patience are what these pups deserve.

So what does that look like?

📝 An application that is completed with thoughtfulness and demonstrates you’ve reviewed our policies and dog profiles.

👍🏻 Adopters who show kindness. Sassy emails, threats, or downright rude comments to our volunteers don’t convince us you’ll be a kind and patient home.

🏡 A stable, pet friendly home. Did you keep your pets through transitions? Is your residence welcoming to pets?

🐶 Good vet history. Did you protect your pet with regular heartworm and Lyme disease testing? Keep them up to date on vaccinations as age appropriate and get them regular wellness?

Does this sound like you? ⬆️ Apply!

In conjunction with Fort Atkinson's city-wide rummage sale extravaganza, they will be hosting a garage sale where there will be something for everyone... including items for kids, adults, clothes, shoes, home decor, household items, and baked goods for humans and dogs! 100% of the proceeds will go to Paddy's Paws. As it gets closer to June 5th, we will share if any of our adoptable dogs are able to stop and make an appearance too.

Our Story

Paddy’s Paws believes in “Rescue Done Right!” Since beginning in late 2014, and officially becoming a nonprofit in November of 2015, Paddy’s Paws has helped over 2,100 dogs find forever homes. The main focus is to find good homes, for good dogs, with good people. Many of the dogs helped are from Houston, Texas. Why Houston? The Wisconsin-Texas connection stems from a friendship that Paddy’s Paws’ founder, Erin, had with the founder of the Houston-based rescue, Lola’s Lucky Day. After taking a trip to Houston, Erin witnessed firsthand the huge homeless pet population in Houston where many dogs were getting euthanized in shelters due to lack of space. Erin created Paddy’s Paws so that dogs who would normally have no chance, could have their second chance at life. Thanks to a solid foster program and dedicated volunteers, Paddy’s Paws expanded its rescue connections and currently works with three licensed rescues: Hooves and Hounds, Houston K-911 Rescue, and Lola’s Lucky Day. In addition to helping homeless dogs from Houston, it also assists with local owner surrenders in Wisconsin.

There are many reasons why Paddy’s Paws is unique. Paddy’s Paws provides animal education to local youth and creates countless community outreach opportunities. In addition to hosting fundraisers for dogs in need, Paddy’s Paws sends all adoption fees to the Houston rescues so they can help save more dogs. As of August 2018, over $600,000 has been sent back. Paddy’s Paws relies solely on the dedication of fabulous fosters and volunteers and the generous support of their followers. Paddy’s Paws uses its expert match-making skills and thorough approval process to ensure each dog goes to a home that is the best fit. Paddy’s Paws is more than just a rescue...Paddy’s Paws is a family. Always available to support adopters throughout the entire process, Paddy’s Paws takes delight in following the special journey of every dog who comes through the organization. Thank you for helping Paddy’s Paws change a life...one dog at a time.

More About the Adoption Process

Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues! Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange home visits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so we will need to go through all the steps before having you meet any of the available dogs here in Wisconsin.

Do you offer hypoallogenic rescues?
Would you be able to transport a dog from the Houston area to Washington state where owners are moving?
I’m wondering what kind of dog Cookie is?? Is she still available?
Happy 1 year Gotcha Day Jack! You have the weirdest personality that has fit just perfectly into this family. You had a challenging start and it took a few months to make you realize this is home. Our days would be boring without you ❤️ Thank you Paddy’s for both our fur babies❤️

Good Morning, Can you tell me when you're open when you're able to see adoptable animals. My nephew put in an application, but hasn't heard anything back. Is there a phone number he can call to try to meet with an adoptable?
Ace (was Andy) has such a cute face, and love his ears. A well behaved dog.
I saw your van today enroute home to Illinois from Texas! Had to look you up on FB! What an awesome job you are doing to rescue these babies and find them furever homes!
Wyatt loves his chicken ❤️
