Paddy’s Paws Rescue
Dept Ag License: 527862 Thank you for visiting Paddy's Paws! Our primary goal is to find adoptive homes for amazing dogs that are located in shelters, rescues and foster homes. Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues. Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up
fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so you will need to go through all the steps before you can meet any of the available dogs in Wisconsin. The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! And, of course, there's always the possibility that the dog that sparked your initial interest will still be available! Begin your application process here: paddyspaws.blogspot.com
We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs. Essentially, Paddy's Paws provides the volunteer manpower and the Houston rescues, well, do the rescue! Adoptions are approved by the team and transportation is arranged! Want to meet some of our available pooches? We have just the opportunity for you!
This Saturday from 1:00-6:00, our adoptable pups will be popping by Fort Fall Fest! We will have a booth with volunteers to answer questions and introduce you to some amazing dogs!
Their times of appearance will vary based on their comfort level, as well as adoption status, but the featured pups below are planning to attend throughout the day!
And speaking of awesome, two time adopter Bob at Orange Whip Design is offering to support the rescue if you mention this post when booking his services! He’s provided free services to our charitable events so we’re hoping to send clients his way! Rumor has it, he’ll adopt dog #3 if he gets 10 new clients 😉

Meet Bubbles, our most recent Wisconsin surrender. She’s a 10 month old, 13 pound mixed breed!
Her mom really loved her, but she couldn’t care her anymore and loved her enough to let her go to rescue. Bubbles had a former best friend who was a cat, and now lives with 6 other dogs and young children and does well with them too! She would also do just fine as an only dog in a home. She has great housemanners and loves to snuggle!
When Bubbles was 6 months old, there was an accident and she had to have her back leg amputated. She gets around just fine as the cutest little tripod!
Bubbles will be spayed and caught up on any core veterinary care and then be ready for a home!
Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.

This sweet girl is ready for adoption! Moxie is 10 months old and about 33 pounds!
Like any herding/working pooch, routine is good. She does great in a kennel, is housetrained in her foster home and is working on basic commands.
She loves to play with other dogs and would love a furry friend to run with! All sizes, all personalities, she rolls with it. She greets appropriately, takes dog to dog redirections appropriately, plays appropriately, but a senior friend may not appreciate her energy.
She is working on not jumping because and is
she’s still a baby and loves to be right up by you. She wants to be with family and loves with her whole body in your lap. She’s previously lived with a cat and does well with kids 6 and up!
Moxie is available through Paddy's Paws to the bestest home.

Paddy’s Paws believes in “Rescue Done Right!” Since beginning in late 2014, and officially becoming a nonprofit in November of 2015, Paddy’s Paws has helped over 2,100 dogs find forever homes. The main focus is to find good homes, for good dogs, with good people. Many of the dogs helped are from Houston, Texas. Why Houston? The Wisconsin-Texas connection stems from a friendship that Paddy’s Paws’ founder, Erin, had with the founder of the Houston-based rescue, Lola’s Lucky Day. After taking a trip to Houston, Erin witnessed firsthand the huge homeless pet population in Houston where many dogs were getting euthanized in shelters due to lack of space. Erin created Paddy’s Paws so that dogs who would normally have no chance, could have their second chance at life. Thanks to a solid foster program and dedicated volunteers, Paddy’s Paws expanded its rescue connections and currently works with three licensed rescues: Hooves and Hounds, Houston K-911 Rescue, and Lola’s Lucky Day. In addition to helping homeless dogs from Houston, it also assists with local owner surrenders in Wisconsin.
There are many reasons why Paddy’s Paws is unique. Paddy’s Paws provides animal education to local youth and creates countless community outreach opportunities. In addition to hosting fundraisers for dogs in need, Paddy’s Paws sends all adoption fees to the Houston rescues so they can help save more dogs. As of August 2018, over $600,000 has been sent back. Paddy’s Paws relies solely on the dedication of fabulous fosters and volunteers and the generous support of their followers. Paddy’s Paws uses its expert match-making skills and thorough approval process to ensure each dog goes to a home that is the best fit. Paddy’s Paws is more than just a rescue...Paddy’s Paws is a family. Always available to support adopters throughout the entire process, Paddy’s Paws takes delight in following the special journey of every dog who comes through the organization. Thank you for helping Paddy’s Paws change a life...one dog at a time.
