After 7 years in a home, Nala finds herself searching again. Adopted as a puppy and recently returned due to schedule changes, sweet little Nala is so confused.
In foster she is learning to believe in herself and trust that the world can be a safe place. She needs someone willing to give her the time and space to build her confidence at her own pace. But once she feels safe with you, you get to see the sweetest parts of her personality.
She’ll greet you when you come home with the biggest smile, show you her playful side, and even ask for pets when she’s in the mood. One of her favorite things? Having you rub her chest with your feet! These little moments are reminders that, underneath her cautious exterior, there’s a girl who wants to connect and feel loved.
The key to earning her trust is respecting her boundaries. She needs you to be mindful of her sides and listen when she lets you know she’s uncomfortable or needs you to stop. Giving her that choice is part of helping her learn that she can trust you.
She may need a little extra patience, but watching her confidence grow and seeing her personality shine is so worth it. She doesn’t need someone to rush her healing. She needs someone who will meet her where she is, celebrate the little victories, and let her learn that she’s safe, loved, and allowed to be herself.
Her forever person is out there. Someone who understands that trust takes time, boundaries matter, and the sweetest love stories are sometimes the ones that grow slowly. She would love to be part of a family again.

Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
