Please continue to spread the word about what we are going to be doing here helping veterans and first responders process their trauma with the assistance of some very special therapists. We realize that we simply cannot do this on our own. So, if you want to be more involved once we are up and running by volunteering, please contact me or Heather through here. We would love for you to come down and see what God hand-picked for Reigns&Renewal. Also, it's never too soon to share the vision. So, if you know of individuals or groups who might be interested in hearing about what we will be doing here, also let us know so we can get connected. This is God's ministry, and we are blessed to be a part of what He's doing and going to do! We love the support we have gained in such a short period of time, and please know that not a single one of you is taken for granted!

So, we have been in our new home now for almost two weeks, and let's just say that the learning curve has been crazy. Even with the a/c not working, we have been getting LOTS of fresh air courtesy of the breezes lately. I am pleased to report that our time without a/c will be coming to an end because our daughter located an independent hvac contractor, and he will be replacing our central unit and our duct work for a significantly lower price than what we had been quoted for replacing only the unit. In the meantime, we have been using a window unit for our bedroom to help keep us and our fur babies cool while all of us sleep. Speaking of sleep, there has to be something about country air because I have really not had a bad night's sleep since we moved. Anyway, we have also been taking advantage of having a pool to keep us cool during the day, and it has also been utilized for water aerobics! When we met our pool guy. Jorge, for the first time to go over how the filtration and cleaning system works, we got to share the vision for Reigns and Renewal with him, and we will be meeting his father-in-law in the near future who is a retired master sergeant from the Air Force and an entrepreneur. After we shared things with Jorge, he mentioned the possibility of donating his services as a way for him to give back. HE brought it up, not me! One other HUGE blessing is getting to connect with Jenn and Eric, our neighbors just up the road a bit. Jenn is the one who got our daughter, Jocelyn Gaines, started with riding drill team, and she shredded our front three pastures for the price of dinner and some adult beverages. The land looks soooooooo GOOD, and the dogs are super happy with all the work that was done on their yard as well! We also were able to get some things cleaned up inside the house. So, it's slowly taking shape inside and out! There's still some more work to be done in and around the barn and also back by the pond, but it will get done in due time. It has truly been a team effort all around, and it will continue to take a team to get everything else in its place. Thank you so much to our amazing family and to those who have already been brought into the fold. Are y'all ready for this!?!?

We are so blessed!! God is on the move already! Oh, we have some fun friends that have shown up recently.

Family and friends who are like family, we are having to deal with some pretty adverse issues with our new home. We are trying to be the very best stewards of what God has given us, and to say that we were misled on the condition of the property when we took ownership would be a HUGE understatement! Yet, even in the middle of this intense storm, our faith holds strong because we know God has HUGE plans for this place and for us to FIRMLY establish Reigns&Renewal here! We know life change WILL happen, and we KNOW healing will take place! The words from the book of James have been echoing through my head, "Consider it pure joy when you face trials.." Then, I am reminded of how it's the things that matter most and the dreams we are trying/going to turn into reality are the very things we have to work the hardest to achieve. Yes, we are in the middle of the storm, and God is anchoring us to his promise to never leave us or forsake us. He takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. So how much more then will he provide for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. I know I combined two sections of Scripture there, but the message is true. I have also been reminded of the "pep talk" God gave to Joshua right after he said farewell to his mentor and friend, and he was about to lead the Israelites into the promised land, "Be strong and courageous.." I would be lying if I said that this time has been or is easy because it is not. It has been emotionally and mentally exhausting, draining my energy these past several days because the hits just keep coming. So, please pray for all of us, myself, Heather Johnson Katie Palitza Becca Palitza and Jocelyn Gaines because we need a miracle, and we need it right now!

Good morning, everybody..we are slowly adjusting to our new "normal." I remember when I worked in the corporate world that my Screensaver said, "Normal is only a five-letter word." I cannot tell you how often people would walk by my desk and do a double take. I would smile when I would see them count on their fingers as they tried to process what they just read. My point with those words is that Normal is not something that stays static. Our lives are always changing, and we are often finding ourselves in a constant state of flux. Well, my friends, that is where we are right now. As we adjust to our new living conditions out at the lake, we know that in nine days we will have a new "normal" at the ranch. So, with this in mind, my question for which y'all to reflect on is this, what is your "normal?" And then, a word of advice, try not to get too attached to it because it will surely change just about the same time you think you have adjusted to it.

We are getting closer and closer to saying goodbye to the amazing home God allowed us to build on Tallow Way. It's crazy to look back and reflect on when this property was only an empty lot except for the "Sold" sign. So many people's lives have been touched over the years by the ministry God asked us to do when we agreed to build this house. So much laughter during family dinners and countless celebrations through the years, and there were multiple times tears were shed as well. As I listen to the roar of the Thunderbirds flying overhead from the Randolph Airshow, it is with some pangs of sorrow, knowing it will be the last time we will be able to see them so clearly and so close. God, thank you for blessing us and using us and this house to bless so many people over the past six plus years. You asked us to sell this house so we can move on to the next thing you have called us to do, and once again, the only reasonable response is "Yes, Lord."

Folks, it's getting more and more exciting at the Johnson household. The weather held out today for us to get POD #2 ready and packed, and we couldn't have done it without the help of several amazing people. Patrick Wendell Rogers showed up and showed off his impressive Tetris skills again, and he brought Charles and Earnest to assist with the heavy lifting. I am pleased to report that my back held out all of today, and I was able to do some lifting as well. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the help from Becca Palitza and April with her clan. Tomorrow we close the chapter on the house @ 6527 Tallow Way, and we prepare for the chapters yet to be written in our ranch in Floresville. I know we wouldn't be where we are without all the prayers lifted up on our behalf. So a HUGE hug to anyone who has been on their knees interceding for us or praying for all of us here not to lose our minds up in here, up in here! 😄 We are so truly blessed to have such servant hearts in our children, and then, all those who love us and support us as we venture down this road toward the adventure before us that is going to be Reigns&Renewal!

We are now one week away from taking ownership of the property where Reigns&Renewal will begin to grow. Some quick updates: we will be staying out @ Canyon Lake until the 13th, which is the earliest we can get delivery of our PODs. POD #1 is getting picked up this morning, and POD #2 is getting delivered. Day 1 of moving and packing went extremely well largely due to Jesse Ferraro and Patrick Rogers (and his co-worker). They demonstrated masterful Tetris skill in making use of every square foot in the storage unit! We are so blessed to have people like this in our life. The lyrics from the song, "Lean on Me," echo in my head this morning, "lean on me when you're not strong, I'll be your friend..I'll help you carry on..just call me." Well, we did, and the three of you answered our call. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
More to come in the days that follow..stay tuned

We pray that everyone had a beautiful and blessed Resurrection Sunday! What a fabulous way to start this week!

So, time to continue the amazing story of Reigns&Renewal..
After much searching, one offer on another property that didn't come to fruition, being discouraged by next to no foot traffic at our house, we received a glimmer of hope when we noticed a property we had previously looked at online, but we had yet to see in person. So, we made an appointment to see the property in person with our realtor. So, we got in our truck and drove down to Floresville. Was this it? Was this going to be the one? Had we found the place where R&R would begin? When we drove onto the property for the first time, our excitement began to grow. 16.2 acres! By far, the largest property we had seen yet. What we saw took my breath away! Two beautiful spacious pastures in the front..one gated entrance at the front..another just beyond where the house was situated..and A POOL!..And A BARN! A separate living space for the girls! A detached 3 car garage! A one acre pond! Three separate sitting areas/porches! The pool house! And then, we stepped inside..3 bedrooms! And the game room had a beautiful blue slate pool table! This was just too good to be true! Every room had a TV..8 in all! Heather and I looked at one another, and we were both like, "This is it!" When we left the property, we wanted to bring our kids to see it since one of the living spaces would be for them. We wanted them to have an opportunity to see firsthand why WE were so excited. We couldn't wait for the kids to see this place! We needed extra sets of eyes that weren't as glossy as ours, see it from a different perspective. So, we contacted our realtor and told her that we wanted to see the property again, only this time we were bringing the kids with us. Next week, see where this leads into a LONG wait, having to be patient and trust in God's perfect plan and perfect timing!
