Ferndale Cat Shelter Saving the world, one cat at a time! The Ferndale Cat Shelter is a licensed 501(c)3 no-kill rescue. We do NOT provide medical care for cats at our shelter.

The Ferndale Cat Shelter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) located in Ferndale, Michigan. We are a donor and volunteer driven organization that includes our MDARD licensed shelter - Catfé Lounge at 686 Livernois. The Ferndale Cat Shelter provides for medical care, foster homes and adoption for homeless cats. We also assist the metropolitan Detroit community with trap-neuter-release to improve the lives of

our feral cat population. If you find a cat who needs medical attention, please take it to the nearest veterinary hospital.

🚀 Steady progress: $12,911 raised by 216 donors overall, 6th position!

Week 2 update: $1,971 raised this week, currently 13th for weekly prizes.

Three more supporters joined our mission - that's three more people who decided our cats and kittens were worth investing in, even when every dollar counts these days.

We dropped one spot in weekly rankings but gained $125 and those three new community members. Sometimes progress isn't about leaderboard positions - it's about building a foundation of people who stick with you through the marathon.

Still solidly positioned for that $5,000 grand prize, still building toward our Week 4 strategy, still grateful for every person who chooses to be part of this mission.
Some days it's about the big wins. Other days it's about showing up consistently.

Today feels like a "showing up" day, and we're here for it! 🐱

💕 Week 2 appreciation post: $1,846 raised this week alone!

We're 12th place for this week's prizes, and honestly? We're grateful for every single dollar. Times are tough, budgets are tight, and yet 213 people have chosen to support our kittens anyway.

That $1,846 represents real sacrifice from real people. Someone skipped their coffee this week. Someone chose our kittens over another purchase. Someone stretched their budget because they believed these cats matter.

We see you. We appreciate you. We know that $5, $10, $25 isn't "just" anything - it's a choice you made when you have a hundred other places that money could go.

Still 6th overall ($5,000 grand prize territory), and we're building steadily toward Week 4 when we'll have some strategic advantages. But right now, we just want to say thank you for choosing our kittens when money is tight for everyone.

Thank you. Without you, none of what we do would be possible.

Looking at the cats and kittens in our care now, knowing you have our backs, and we all have theirs, it truly matters. Sometimes it's tough. Sometimes, it takes awhile to find the right one. But when it clicks? It changes everything.

Your donations, your continued support while we harangue you during this drive? That truly matters and you are appreciated. No hype, no pitch. Just, thank you for helping them.

💪 Steady as she goes! $12,395 raised by 206 donors

We're holding at 14th place for this week - and honestly? In a competition this long, steady progress beats wild swings any day. We've gained $100 and one more amazing supporter since yesterday!

This is what the middle weeks of a marathon look like. Not the explosive excitement of Week 1, not the final sprint of Week 4, just the determined, steady work of people who believe in the mission.

206 donors. Each one a person who said "yes" to helping cats and kittens. Each one part of a community that doesn't quit when the initial buzz wears off.

We're 5th overall for that $5K grand prize, and there are two full weeks left for anything to happen. But right now, I'm just grateful for the consistency. For the people who keep showing up. For the steady heartbeat of a community that cares.

5th place = $5,000 for cats and kittens? That's still life-changing money!

Look at those perfect little toe beans giving you the appreciation you deserve. This paw represents every single cat and kitten whose life is better because of your generosity.

From ALL of us at Ferndale Cat Shelter - staff, volunteers, board members, and yes, the cats themselves - THANK YOU! The response has been phenomenal beyond anything we imagined when this challenge started.

We're holding strong in 4th place overall, but this challenge is only half over. Anything could happen in the next two weeks! What we know for sure is that no matter where we finish, this community has already changed everything for us.

🐱 Thank you all so much. It's going to be a tough couple of weeks, but we are in this together! The top 7 fundraisers in Metro-Detroit get the big prizes at the end and we could really put those funds to great use.

Real talk: We're slipping on this week's leaderboard (around 16th for the $3,500 prize), but I'm playing the LONG game here.

$11,435 raised by 196 donors - still 3rd place for the $10K grand prize! That's what we're really fighting for over these 4 weeks.

Week 2 & 3 are going to be a slog. I know it. You know it. Other organizations are making their big pushes while we're in that post-goal plateau. That's totally normal.

But here's what I'm banking on: our community sticks around. The 196 people who believed in saving kittens don't just disappear because the initial excitement wore off.

🐱 Morning update: 3rd place overall (still $10K grand prize territory!), but we need to climb from 17th this week to grab that $3,500 bonus. (The weekly position is what counts for the $3,500! Not the overall!)

Meet some of our newest arrivals. Look how tiny they are! But here's the heartbreaking reality: kittens can start having kittens as young as 4 months old.

That means some of these babies could become mothers before they're even done growing themselves. A kitten having kittens - their tiny bodies trying to support pregnancy and nursing when they should still be playing with toys.

This is why the cycle never stops. This is why every spay/neuter matters. This is why we can't just save 25 kittens and call it done.

Week 2 strategy: We need bigger donations and more individual fundraisers to climb from 17th to top 3. That $3,500 could spay/neuter 35+ cats, preventing hundreds of future "kittens having kittens" situations.

Ready to help us move up the leaderboard? These babies are counting on us!
