This beautiful girl arrived yesterday. We don’t see many white possums. She had some wounds and fly strike and was really hungry, but we cleaned her up and fed her. We are optimistic about her recovery ❤️🙏🏻

We are very sad to have lost our momma who came in with a gun shot to the head. We pulled her babies last night because she was struggling. We provided fluids and pain meds to keep
her comfortable and we will honor her by raising her babies 💔💔💔

It’s hard to stomach some of the cruelty we encounter. This momma possum was shot in the head with a pouch full of babies. We are very concerned about her prognosis as her breathing is labored and we’re sure she is in pain. We are not sure the extent of the internal damage so we will need an X-ray to better assess. For now we will stabilize and medicate. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 💔

Bunnies, Bunnies and more Bunnies!!

We had 10 cottontail intakes last night + one more bonus bunny that is a critical cat caught after midnight…and it is only the start of Memorial Day weekend. 🤯❤️‍🩹

Everyone made it through the night!! Please send lots of healing thoughts and prayers for the animals in our care.

Helpful reminders:
Please watch for nests while doing yard work and gardening.

Please keep cats indoors.

When having your first bonfires of the season, please carefully move your brush pile and place them into the firepit. Check for nests first. Never burn a brush pile directly that has been sitting for any amount of time. We always get burn victims starting this time of year.

We don’t intake many flying squirrels so it was a special treat to take care of this little guy, even for just a day. 🥰
