Athena's story started outside in Oak Park, where a kind person noticed she was pregnant and got her to safety. She gave birth to her babies in the warmth and comfort of a foster home, and now that her kittens have all found their forever families, it's Athena's turn to find hers.

Athena is a sweet soul who just needs time to trust. In her foster home, she warmed up to one special person, showing that with patience and gentle care, she blossoms into a loving companion. The Catfé Lounge is a community space where people and cats come together to enjoy each other's company, sip coffee or tea, volunteer, learn something new and make friends. We are a part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter - a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the welfare of cats in the Metro Detroit community. Cats and kittens at the Catfé are available for adoption, and the café is a community space where people can meet and socialize with cats and kittens before they find their forever homes. If you're feeling curious, stop by the Catfé for some self-serve drinks and snacks and to make some new feline friends. We offer self-serve coffee, tea and juice along with cookies for kids. We ask for a suggested donation of $10 to enjoy the space and support the care of our rescue kitties. All donations are gratefully appreciated.
