These candidates are hand picked for their temperment, personality, family-friendly, child-safe traits and incorporated into all of our outreach programs. The result is a well-socialized, balanced pup ready for their forever home. ✨️Links to full bio in comments on each photo✨️

Our highly successful, 2 week foster-to-adopt program allows you to plan ahead, and with our guidance, know what to expect every step of the way. Fostering includes supplies, food, and 24/7 support from yours truly.

All adoptions include spay/neuter, dapp, bordatella, and rabies vaccinations, vet exam, heartworm test, deworming, and microchip.

All adoptions come with a lifetime support policy and adopters become part of the Meghans House family.
Adoption is supposed to be a joyful experience! We bring back the hope and happiness it's meant to be.

✨️Dixie is one of the last remaining 7-DAY Youth Training Team Program Graduates and ready for her own forever family.

✨️ Smart, submissive, silly, and sweet
✨️Has all of her foundation obedience and tries really, really hard to please
✨️Attends our Tractor Supply Adoption Events and is very people social, practicing her obedience for everyone both in and out of a 3' x-pen
✨️Expert traveling partner, loads right up for all of our adventures and travels quietly for hours
✨️Has been to Lumberjack Festival, Tractor Supply, Bohemia Park, and Lake Siskiyou Hike Days!
✨️Has sit, down, stay, recall, leash manners, and load up

Dixie is just the perfect size at 55 #, has enough energy to go on great adventures and a nice off-switch and routine to fit into a family's daily routine. She is people social, child safe, and pairs well with other dogs. Currently paired with our gentle guardian, Axel, who is teaching her a steady daily routine and calm manners.

JANIE! 1.5yr 25 # Kelpie? Decker terrier?
Currently in a foster-to-adopt home!

Janie is a compact little powerhouse with the intelligence and confidence to match. Wherever she came from before landing at the shelter, they certainly did a great job:

✨️Day one working with her she was off-leash at our barn, paid no mind to the horses, had instant recall and great obedience. Loaded right up in the back seat of my truck, traveled happily, stayed by our side as we worked, and whenever we stopped for a minute she'd lie down and fall asleep at our feet.

✨️Day two we took her to our friend's agility course and she was a champ there, too. Paid no mind to kenneled or free dogs, stayed close, and tackled every obstacle like a fun puzzle easily solved.

✨️Graduated our 7-Day Youth Training Team Program with flying colors. 9 handlers, 18 dogs, 7 days. Valedictorian.

✨️Graduated a 2-week in-home foster with ease.

✨️Janie is athletic, obedient, well-mannered and confident, listens and minds her manners. Shes up for every adventure and also has an instant off-swith, making her the best of every world. Shes been to all of our events in both CA and OR, is very people social, child safe, crowd safe, and dog social. Has fantastic obedience even in heavily distracting situations.

✨️ This fantastic gem would make a great agility prospect, hiking partner, and adventure buddy with her keen intelligence and confident demeanor.

Fern is as petite as her Mama Tinkerbell and a carbon copy image. Mama is just 55 # and raised 8 beautiful puppies.

Fern has many accomplishments for a young lady:

Fern is very submissive, tactile, affectionate, willing, and silly. She has crate-training, house-training, obedience and leash training, travels like a pro, has a great daily routine, and is very dog, cat, people social and child safe.

Available for adoption 💕

Axel came to me as a confused rottweiler teenager, owner surrendered for being - a confused, rottweiler teenager. These gentle guardians take an understanding of the breed's needs and inherent nature. Even if youve had rottweilers before, myself included I've had 2, every dog is an individual, just like us.

Axel is a very soft natured, old soul who appreciates a quiet, calm, knowledgeable handler. He has great obedience, a quiet demeanor, low energy, and is very balanced with other dogs (hes our #1 babysitter now, equal to Mama Sugar), and needs a breed experienced home.

In the video attached you'll see a 7mos Axel learning balanced social skills from the pack we created one by one to help new pups coming in. So important for dogs to learn from their own species in a safe setting, and to have calm leadership from their humans.

Fast forward, Axel has become the gentle big brother to a great many new, unstable teenagers coming into the rescue. When out in big pack play groups, Axel prefers to toodle along at my side and disregard the crowd. He loves affection and cookies, but prefers affection. Kindness and a soft touch wins overall with this gentleman. Video of his back seat driving in the comments.

Knowledge of his breed is very important because, well, hes a rottweiler. He will never be a golden retriever, pit bull, or chihuahua. He carries himself with calm dignity and was bred to make independent decisions, to be loyal, and protective. Sometimes it takes an extra minute for Axel to make a decision and that is just OK. Hes supposed to. Rottweilers appreciate routine, stability, and a loyal companion.

Axel has been to our Lake Siskiyou Hike Days and enjoys ambling the shady trails tremendously, happily going along with strangers, 100lbs of happy puppy. He has impeccable leash manners, loose leash walking for anyone, everywhere. He loads right up in the van and got his own b***y up all by himself finally!

GOOSIE my love, needs a home.
5yr m heeler x, impeccable manners, lovely obedience, dog and people social.

This sweet boy came to me when we started our little rescue. He was a traumatized kid out of Los Banos with just hours to live. Abused by kids who were repeating their own abuse, Goosie was confiscated by LE, taken to the overcrowded shelter, and not given more than 4 days.

Hes been such a quiet addition it was easy to concentrate on the constant rotation of emergencies in rescue and here we are, a couple years later, and its Goose's turn to be prioritized.

This sweet soul pairs best with female dogs, little dogs, and nice male dogs, and would do well as a solo dog as well. He has some prey drive, so no free-running kitties please, but he has impeccable obedience and light leash manners so he listens when told no.

His favorite things in life are playing fetch, though hes hopelessly incapable of catching the ball lol. Hes been trying out for the baseball team for years! He loves water and splashes endlessly in the water trough. He loves rolling in the grass and sprawling in it with his tennis ball.

Goosie is a big flirt with the girls, cajoling them into games of tag and letting them win with a ceremonious flop on his back - even the little chihuahuas are allowed to win. He loves car rides and travels quietly, walks nicely on leash and has good obedience, doesnt bark, is very submissive, can be protective, and tries really really hard to please. He wants no more trouble in his life and would do well with a quiet, stable, adult home.

PARIS - the last of our three drainpipe rescue puppies - is available for adoption.
8mos little female anatolian x with just a smidgen pinch of malinois to make it fun.

Dumped in the road with her last 2 siblings in a winter storm, Paris London and Barcelona took refuge in a muddy drain pipe with freezing rain and plummeting temps. Paris' survival role was to be on point and watch for danger, caring for her two sisters. Saved in the nick of time, these sweet girls warmed up fast and were forgiving.

Paris is a little sprite, just 45lbs, submissive, playful, gentle, and soft-mouthed. She loves carrying her Garfield stuffie and holding her leash on walks - its the cutest thing. She gets overwhelmed with boisterous dogs and prefers balanced company, ever alert from her past and learning she doesnt have to be 'on point' anymore. She loves soft blankets, helping to make her bed, car rides, snuggles and affection. Medium energy. Doesnt bark, dig, nor jump. Just a soft gentle soul who plays just enough 💕.
