Dear Valued Mt. Stuart Animal Hospital Clients,
You have asked and we listened.
We recognize and share the concerns many of you have expressed regarding access to veterinary care in our community. Kittitas County has experienced significant population growth over recent years, along with a substantial increase in pet adoptions particularly during and following the pandemic. While we are grateful that so many animals found loving homes during this time, this surge has placed considerable strain on the limited number of veterinary clinics serving the valley. As demand for care continues to rise, clinics are managing higher call volumes, fuller appointment schedules, and an increased number of after hours calls for both urgent and non-urgent medical concerns, challenges that continue to affect how veterinary care is delivered today.
This is a collaborative effort between Mt. Stuart Animal Hospital, Valley Veterinary Hospital / Cascade East Animal Hospital, Ellensburg Animal Hospital, and Bless This Pet Vet to better support existing clients across our community. By working together, we aim to improve access to veterinary guidance while maintaining continuity of care for pets already established with any of these clinics.
We value the culture in our clinic, as well as the mental and physical health of our veterinary staff members. As such we have teamed up with VetTriage, a convenient and affordable after-hours veterinary video telehealth platform. The VetTriage veterinarians will assess your pet on video to determine whether the ailment your pet is facing constitutes a true medical emergency.
If the VetTriage veterinarian deems your pet’s condition a medical emergency, they will arrange the visit with one of our on-call doctors/local emergency veterinary hospitals for treatment on an
emergency basis. The vast majority are not deemed an emergency, therefore safe advice and home monitoring instructions will be given to you by the VetTriage doctor so you can care for your
pet until our clinic is open to schedule an appointment.
VetTriage prevents unnecessary traveling and costs to you, our valued pet parent, and allows our staff to get the much-needed rest they need so they can provide the excellent service you are
used to receiving during operating hours. Getting that peace of mind is priceless!
