Urgent Pet Care Center is a locally and privately owned business that has roots in the Oklahoma City metro area. Our experience has allowed us to build relationships with your primary care veterinarian so that we can bring the best possible care to your 4-legged family member. As an Urgent Care facility, we aim to fill a needed service between your primary care veterinarian and the Emergency/Specialty Referral facility.

While you’re busy hunting eggs and enjoying sweet treats, don’t forget—some Easter fun can be dangerous for your furry friends!

Watch out for:
• Lilies ✨: Beautiful, but highly toxic to cats! Even a little can cause serious kidney issues.
• Chocolate & Candy 🍫🐇🍬: Yummy for humans, but dangerous (and sometimes deadly) for pets—especially if it contains xylitol.
• Easter Grass 🌱: That shiny fake grass might look festive, but if swallowed, it can cause serious tummy troubles, even leading to obstruction.

🐾😍Meet Brisket, a 9-month-old bulldog mix with a big personality and even bigger zoomies 💨 This handsome goofball lives life at full speed—and his canine housemate wasn’t exactly a fan of all that enthusiasm. One warning snap later, and Brisket found himself visiting us at UPCC.

🔋He was still going strong during his appointment, soaking up the attention and loving every pet. We cleaned up his minor puncture wound, gave him some antibiotics, and sent him home—hopefully with slightly less chaos in his step. 😜

🤎💙 This pretty lady (in front) is Rubi. She brought along her housemate, Simone, for moral support. 🥹 She came to see us because she was having some issues with coughing, gagging, and drooling.

She was bright, alert, and responsive when she arrived. Her owner just wanted to make sure nothing major was going on with her. She reported that Rubi gets pretty excited about mealtime and tends to eat her food too fast 🤤

🩻 We obtained x-rays of her chest, which were unremarkable. She was sent home with some medications to help her feel better and a recommendation that a lot of us could benefit from: slow down and savor it all. ☺️

🐈 Meet Ike, a sweet kitty that came to us with trouble breathing. His owners noticed sneezing, congestion and open-mouth breathing-signs that something wasn’t right. After a thorough exam, we diagnosed a respiratory infection and started immediate treatment.

🔍Signs of respiratory illness in cats:
❗️Fast or labored breathing
❗️Sneezing and nasal discharge
❗️Coughing or wheezing
❗️Lethargy & loss of appetite

Since his visit, Ike got plenty of TLC and finished his round of medications. His owner reports that he is feeling great and back to his normal, happy self. Respiratory issues can escalate quickly. This is Mookie and this is his face of no regrets 🤭
You see, Mookie was very hungry and thought the rotisserie chicken on the counter was left especially for him 🤤 He was so hungry in fact, he ate the entire thing. Word is it was very tasty!
We induced vomiting and unfortunately for Mookie made him give back his tasty treat 🍗
In doing so, we are hoping to avoid the issues that could come along with eating an entire chicken such as pancreatitis.
Although we loved seeing Mookie's mischievous face, we hope he stays out of trouble 🥰

Meet Arlo 😍 this striking boy came to see us for tummy troubles. When he stopped wanting to play, his mom knew it was time for a check up. 🙁

Arlo was a fantastic patient for his blood draw and x-rays which thankfully didn't reveal anything too concerning.

We were able to help Arlo with outpatient treatment of fluids and anti-nausea medications. We hope he was able to get back to his playful self as soon as possible. 🐱🐾

Thank you for trusting us with his care, he was a wonderful patient! 💛

Smush face alert ‼️
This is Bo. You're probably wondering how he ended up here. Bo had a case of the zoomies 💨 that ended in him colliding with a doorway. He was just trying to show off how speedy 🏃‍♂️ he could be but unfortunately his eye was bumped in the collision.
We got him fixed up with eye drops to help him feel better as quickly as possibly. We hope he was able to get back to his regularly scheduled zoom asap.
