🌈 National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾

Today, we remember the pets who left paw prints on our hearts that time can never erase.

The ones who greeted us at the door.
Stole our spot on the couch.
Made us laugh when we needed it most.
Stayed beside us through some of life's biggest moments.
And somehow made an ordinary day better simply by being there. ❤️

At Deer Creek Animal Clinic, we know that saying goodbye doesn't mean we stop loving them. The memories, the stories, the silly habits, and the love they gave us stay with us forever.

Which means today is basically a nationally recognized excuse to talk about your dog even more than you already do. 😂

At Deer Creek Animal Clinic, we have the privilege of knowing some pretty spectacular dogs — the brave ones, the dramatic ones, the wiggle-butts, the treat negotiators, the professional kissers, and the ones who suddenly forget how their legs work when they realize they’re at the vet. ❤️

Normally, this would be the part where we celebrate warm, fluffy waffles covered in butter and syrup. But this is Deer Creek Animal Clinic, so obviously we have a more important question:

Today we celebrate the sleek, mysterious, ridiculously photogenic creatures who have spent centuries being blamed for things they absolutely did not do.

Black cats are:
✨ 100% adorable
✨ 87% sass
✨ 13% “I have been staring at you for 20 minutes and you still haven’t opened the treats.”
✨ Excellent at disappearing into the darkness… especially when it’s time for nail trims.

And let’s be honest: black cats don't bring bad luck. They bring attitude, purrs, midnight zoomies, and an unreasonable amount of fur to your black clothing. 😂

Today is all about celebrating the mysterious, independent, hilarious, cuddly, and occasionally slightly judgmental creatures who have completely taken over our homes—and our hearts. ❤️🐾

Whether your cat spends the day demanding treats, knocking things off the counter, hiding in a cardboard box, or curled up beside you, they deserve a little extra love today! 😻

🎉 Celebrate your cat today by:
🐾 Giving them some extra playtime
🐾 Offering a favorite treat
🐾 Taking a few (okay, probably 47) pictures
🐾 Scheduling that wellness checkup you've been putting off
🐾 And, most importantly, reminding them that this is still their house—you just pay the mortgage. 😂

🥵🐾 Attention Pets: This Is Your Official Reminder to Drink Water! 🐾🥵

Dear Dogs,

The weather outside is approximately one million degrees. This is not the time to pretend your water bowl is invisible.

Dear Cats,

Yes, we know the water in the flower pot, bathtub, and mysterious puddle on the patio is somehow more appealing than the fresh water your humans provide. Please reconsider your life choices.

💧 Drink your water.
💧 Then drink some more water.
💧 Then knock the bowl over and demand fresh water if that's what it takes.

Signs your pet may need more hydration:
🐕 Panting like they just ran a marathon (even though they only walked to the mailbox)
🐈 Acting extra grumpy (okay, that might just be normal cat behavior)
🐾 Looking for the coolest spot in the house and refusing to move

Help your pets beat the heat by keeping fresh water available, limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and providing plenty of shade.

Remember: A hydrated pet is a happy pet. A dehydrated pet is a furry drama queen with a veterinary bill.
