These 3-month-old sweethearts were born indoors and lovingly raised by their foster mom. Because they’ve been handled with care from the very beginning, they are all extremely social, friendly, and playful.

They’re the perfect age to join their forever families. Full of energy, curious about everything, and ready to snuggle once playtime is over.

🎃👻 Meet Zephyr – Our Little Spirit Cat! 👻🎃

Zephyr is a petite black beauty with bright green eyes who was found living in a local cemetery. A kind neighbor noticed her wandering among the gravestones, leaving food each day until it was clear this shy little soul needed help.

Now safe with Standish, Zephyr is looking for a forever home – but she’s no ordinary house cat. Zephyr is what we lovingly call a Spirit Cat: she loves other cats (truly LOVES them!) and secretly enjoys being petted, but most of the time she’ll be tucked away in her favorite hiding spot. She’s not big on attention or cuddles, but she is big on keeping you company in her own quiet, ghost-like way.
That’s just who she is: a shy spirit kitty who wants love but still feels safest when she can keep her distance. 🖤

✨ Why adopt a Spirit Cat?

✨Meet Kaylysh✨

Kaylysh is a high energy kitten who is super playful with his littermates and loves to snuggle on his foster mom's lap at the end of the day. He is a bit of a wild child who needs redirection when he nibbles at your fingers during play. Kaylysh loves the string toy and playing with his dog foster sister. He is very friendly and social with new friends and has a loud purr.

We are currently seeking an individual with experience in grant writing to volunteer with our animal rescue.

Through the grant writing process, Standish has received many donations that we would not have otherwise known about, let alone secured.

We are looking for someone who can volunteer their time remotely to research grants we may be eligible for and to submit timely applications so that we can continue to grow for many years to come. This is a very limited time commitment and can be done entirely from the comfort of your home.

If you, or someone you know, may be interested in donating their time, please contact us.

ADOPTED Reisling, an adorable white and grey female, is now in the home of a couple that will no doubt dote on her every command. Reisling was so fond of them and all the attention bestowed upon her during their visit. They have tons of cat experience but they are starting her out with all new toys and new cat beds and new scratch towers and everything new to welcome their new fur baby home including an official baby announcement to all their friends and family.

Mabie is a sweet and sassy tortie who has been through more than her fair share, but you’d never know it by the love she gives. Mabie was living in heartbreaking conditions before a compassionate woman stepped in to change her life. When she discovered that Mabie’s previous owner could no longer care for her, she gently encouraged him to surrender Mabie so she could have a chance at a better life.

Since her rescue, Mabie has blossomed into the loving, playful cat she was always meant to be. With her signature tortie sass and a heart full of affection, she’s proven to be not only resilient but incredibly sweet. Carmelo was adopted as a baby and has grown into the sweetest little guy. Sadly, his family discovered they're allergic to him -and it's only getting worse- so they're now hoping to find him a new home full of love (and feather toys!).

ADOPTED Toffee is a sweet kitten who along with his brother Pudding are a bonded pair -they’re inseparable! Both are little purr machines who will melt your heart the moment you pick them up. They love to snuggle under the covers at night and keep you company while you sleep. They’re also very social and are completely in love with the dogs in their foster home. ADOPTED Myka, torbie, is adopted as an only cat. Myka was very receptive to this adopter and kept rubbing up against her and then played for a while chasing a laser light. The adopter commented that she loved her energy and her looks.
Mae, orange, went home with a mom and her two adult daughters. Mae, who originally was painfully shy upon coming to Standish, has blossomed into such a sweet girl. She was rolling over and purring like crazy as each of them petted her. They are completely committed to allowing her to adjust in her own time.
Ladybug, a white and tabby female, is adopted by a volunteer and her family. Ladybug, a friendly petite thing, will have a small dog to get to know in her new home. Ladybug was ever so friendly to everyone she met and this new volunteer fell quickly in love with this one.

Meow Con is super playful with his littermates and enjoys snuggling on his foster mom's lap at the end of the day. He loves the string toy, laser and boxes. Meow Con is very friendly and social with new friends and has a loud purr. He loves perching up high on the cat tree so he can observe his surroundings.
