Happy Father's Day to all the pet dads who've mastered the art of one-handed coffee drinking while holding a leash!
To celebrate, we're sharing our favorite dad jokes: "What do you call a cold pet? A chili dog!" and "What did the cat say on Father's Day? I'm very fond of you!"

That obsessive paw-licking might not be what you think. Summer brings a perfect storm of itch triggers—new pollens, bug bites, higher humidity causing yeast, and even sunburn on light-colored pets. If your pet's scratching like they're hiding lottery tickets, it's time for some detective work. Notice patterns? Morning scratching vs. night? After being outside? Stop by and we can help relieve those allergies! https://us.vetstoria.com/booking/6645090e28e7e/?r=6

We've all heard about hot cars and scorched pavement, but let's talk about the sneakier summer dangers: BBQ skewers left at snout level, open windows without screens, fertilizers that curious paws track inside, and water bowls that grow algae in the heat. What surprising summer hazard have you discovered? Drop us a warning below!

Let's talk cat hugs! For some cats, a full embrace means war. For others, it's bliss. Most prefer the "slow blink" love language or a gentle chin scratch. What's your cat's affection style? And how many of you have cats that only want hugs when YOU'RE busy? (We see you, lap-seeking cats who appear during Zoom calls.)

Our patient of the week this week is JC! JC is a 1 year old Norwich Terrier who was noticed to have incoordination in all four limbs as he first learned to walk. JC was diagnosed by NCSU Vet School with congenital spinal cord deformities. JC is now part of a new clinical trial by Cornell University using stem cells to treat nerve and musculoskeletal conditions, and is undergoing his treatment with us here at Park! The stem cells being used were generated from JC’s own abdominal fat cells, which were harvested at our hospital and sent to Cornell where they turned those tissues into stem cells. JC has been coming in every month to receive his stem cell injections with Dr. Hunt and Kim, RVT. He does very well for his treatments and we are excited to see what this therapy can do for him!
