Cat Fact Friday!

Despite being physically large, Cheetahs are not considered "true" big cats like tigers, lions, jaguars, leopards, and snow leopards. This is because Cheetahs lack the specialized throat structure that allows "true" big cats to roar. Instead, they make high-pitched chirps, growls and are the only large cats that are able to purr!

Spring is here and the flowers are starting to bloom! Please be mindful of what plants and flowers are brought into the house and remember, NO LILIES FOR KITTIES!

Everything about lilies are toxic to cats; leaves, petals, pollen, stem and even the water from the vase! After exposure, symptoms can develop quickly, usually within 12 to 24 hours. If left untreated, the kidneys can shut down entirely in 48 to 72 hours.

If you believe your cat ingested any part of a lily, or any toxin/poison, contact the ASPCA poison control hotline (888-426-4435), Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), your vet or emergency vet immediately.
