Our Story
Our Mission: To take a community-based approach to providing quality lives to animals; by facilitating education of humane ownership, by assisting pet families with low cost spay/neuters, vaccinations, and pet supplies, and by providing temporary fosters and permanent homes.
Our focus is to "Educate, Assist, Rescue, & Rehome.”
New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2016 with the idea of becoming a no-kill animal rescue and shelter. New Hope’s focus has shifted to providing outreach programs to the community with plans of becoming a foster-based rescue. To reflect our new direction, we are now doing business as New Hope Animal Outreach. We are a volunteer-based organization that is looking to pave a new way to rescue and foster animals in our community!
Our goal is to build a “Community Rescue Hub” in Macon County, the first of its kind. This Rescue Hub will be the center of our rescue and foster program and will allow New Hope to efficiently and cost effectively carry out our mission. The Rescue Hub will serve as a base of operations for our foster-based animal rescue with adequate space for intake, vet care, and meet and greets. Our priorities, until we can raise the funds for our Rescue Hub, will be educating the community about humane animal ownership and assisting pet families with our community outreach programs!
It is important for us to create a space that will benefit the community and the animals in need of care while remaining financially sustainable. We are excited to partner with other animal advocates in our community to identify unmet community needs and develop programs to fill those needs.
