Our Mission: To take a community based approach to saving and providing quality lives to animals by facilitating education of humane ownership, affordable spay/neuter programs, healthcare, temporary shelter and permanent homes. "Rescue, Rehab, Educate, Re-home"

New Hope Animal Shelter is a NEW non-profit organization established in 2016 after identifying the need for an additional no-kill animal

rescue and shelter in the Macon county area. We are a volunteer based organization that is focused on paving a new way to rescue and foster animals in our community! Our goal is to build a rescue hub in Macon County, the first of it's kind. This rescue hub will be the center of our rescue and foster program and will allow New Hope to efficiently and cost effectively carry out our mission and core values. The hub will serve as a large scale foster based animal rescue with adequate space for intake, vet care, meet and greet, and temporary shelter. Providing education and low cost vet care to Macon County are also top priority! It is important for us to create a space that will benefit the community and the animals in need of care while remaining financially sustainable. We are excited to partner with other animal advocates in our community to identify unmet community needs and develop programs to fill those needs. Please consider supporting our mission by sending a donation through Paypal to [email protected].

UPDATE Sunday: So far so good - thanks to the 8 donors so far, we are about 1/2 way there! Zeke needs a little more help to get home from the vet. If you can donate any amount it will help him so much. 🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾
This is Zeke, he is currently at his vet in Taylorville. He had to have treatment for crystals in his urinary track. Mom is having trouble paying his bill. If you have an extra $5 $10 or $20, it sure would help out. His bill is $500. You can donate on our website, www.NHAOdecaturIL.org with JEKE in the comments, or text Suzi 217-413-8646 for other modes of donation. ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

We have two items for sale currently on Marketplace for $40 each! Check them out and message us if you're interested.

Thank you, Decatur! Thanks to you we were able to help two hungry puppies, one hungry kitten and two hungry cats all in one household on Monday. They needed a little help for a few days until they got paid again. So wonderful to be able to help people out in a pinch. 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾 We all get by with a little help from our friends.

Here’s another Upcycle on out way to KC Finds. It’s fun wall decor that would look good on several of your walls!

Donation request: Our Pet Pantry is in need of gallon bags. We prefer the bags with the expandable bottom like these Walmart Great Value bags.
These bags hold more food in them which is further assistance to our pet parents in need, and more food in hungry tummies.

Our Story

Our Mission: To take a community-based approach to providing quality lives to animals; by facilitating education of humane ownership, by assisting pet families with low cost spay/neuters, vaccinations, and pet supplies, and by providing temporary fosters and permanent homes.

Our focus is to "Educate, Assist, Rescue, & Rehome.” New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2016 with the idea of becoming a no-kill animal rescue and shelter. New Hope’s focus has shifted to providing outreach programs to the community with plans of becoming a foster-based rescue. To reflect our new direction, we are now doing business as New Hope Animal Outreach. We are a volunteer-based organization that is looking to pave a new way to rescue and foster animals in our community! Our goal is to build a “Community Rescue Hub” in Macon County, the first of its kind. This Rescue Hub will be the center of our rescue and foster program and will allow New Hope to efficiently and cost effectively carry out our mission. The Rescue Hub will serve as a base of operations for our foster-based animal rescue with adequate space for intake, vet care, and meet and greets. Our priorities, until we can raise the funds for our Rescue Hub, will be educating the community about humane animal ownership and assisting pet families with our community outreach programs! Stay tuned for updates on our brick and mortar Rescue Hub efforts!
