Our Mission: To take a community-based approach to providing quality lives for animals by facilitating emergency vet exams, and education in humane pet ownership; by providing free emergency pet food and low cost spay/neuter services to the citizens of Macon County Illinois. New Hope Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization established in 2016 after identifying the need for a variety of pet se

rvices in the Macon county area. We are a volunteer based organization that is focused on paving a new way to help animals in our community. New Hope Animal Outreach strives to efficiently and cost effectively carry out our mission and core values. We serve the low-income citizens of Macon County with services that will enable pets to remain in their homes and out of local shelters and rescues. It is important for us to create a space that will benefit the community and the animals in need while remaining financially sustainable. We are seeking partnerhips with other animal advocates in our community to identify unmet community needs and develop programs to fill those needs. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit is registered at New Hope Animal Shelter dba New Hope Animal Outreach. We made the distinction because we are no longer a shelter and have outrreach programs instead. We stand with and support local shelters/rescues by doing what we can to keep animals from being relinquished to their care. Please consider supporting our mission by sending a donation through Paypal to [email protected] to support our programs.

We are getting calls about rehoming pets which I am very sorry to report. Our main mission is to keep pets at home but sometimes circumstances don’t always allow that. NHAO is not licensed to take in animals but an internet search for Central Illinois Rescues will give some options.

Our Story

Our Mission: To take a community-based approach to providing quality lives to animals; by facilitating education of humane ownership, by assisting pet families with low cost spay/neuters, vaccinations, and pet supplies, and by providing temporary fosters and permanent homes.

Our focus is to "Educate, Assist, Rescue, & Rehome.” New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2016 with the idea of becoming a no-kill animal rescue and shelter. New Hope’s focus has shifted to providing outreach programs to the community with plans of becoming a foster-based rescue. To reflect our new direction, we are now doing business as New Hope Animal Outreach. We are a volunteer-based organization that is looking to pave a new way to rescue and foster animals in our community! Our goal is to build a “Community Rescue Hub” in Macon County, the first of its kind. This Rescue Hub will be the center of our rescue and foster program and will allow New Hope to efficiently and cost effectively carry out our mission. The Rescue Hub will serve as a base of operations for our foster-based animal rescue with adequate space for intake, vet care, and meet and greets. Our priorities, until we can raise the funds for our Rescue Hub, will be educating the community about humane animal ownership and assisting pet families with our community outreach programs! It is important for us to create a space that will benefit the community and the animals in need of care while remaining financially sustainable. We are excited to partner with other animal advocates in our community to identify unmet community needs and develop programs to fill those needs. Please consider supporting our mission by sending a donation through PayPal to [email protected]. Stay tuned for updates on our brick and mortar Rescue Hub efforts!
