✨ New Faces on the Adoption Floor! ✨
Say hello to Ginger and Cookies, two sweet girls just starting their shelter journey and hoping it leads straight to a forever home.

🐶 Ginger
Ginger came to us on 12/20 through no fault of her own. She’s about 2 years old and has the most soulful eyes that will melt your heart. Ginger is a total sweetheart who appears to walk well on a leash and is treat motivated. She’s still settling in and can be a little shy at first, but we’re learning more about her every day—and we already know she’s something special.

🐶 Cookies
Next up is Cookies, our adorable short stack who can’t help but wiggle with happiness! Estimated to be around 6 years old, Cookies came in as a stray on 12/10. She has the cutest freckled face, loves to play, and is also very treat motivated. Her sweet, fun personality shines the moment you meet her.

Both girls are looking for loving homes where they can feel safe, spoiled, and adored. If you’re thinking about adding a dog to your family, come meet Ginger and Cookies—you just might fall in love 💗🐾

🎄🐾 Christmas Eve may have meant a closed shelter, but it didn’t stop the love! Thanks to your generous donations, our dogs and cats enjoyed special treats and gifts today.

Meet Lucca

This sweet playful guy is Lucca, estimated to be about 2 years old and has been at the shelter since November 4th. He currently spends his days playing with the cats in the cat colony and that's fun but we know he would love a new home of his own! If you are looking for a cat that loves to play just as much as he loves to nap, Lucca is your guy!

💙 Meet Blu! 💙

Blu may be listed as around 6 years old, but don’t let that fool you — this sweet guy still has puppy energy when it’s playtime! 🐶✨

He’s been calling the shelter home since 11/17, and staff can’t say enough good things about him. Blu did great for his bath, has a constantly wagging (and slightly blurry!) tail, and is almost always wearing a happy smile. He loves to play and soak up attention — just an all-around good boy.

🎉 This week’s adoption celebration! 🎉

What an amazing week at Macon County Animal Control & Care Center— 17 cats and 13 dogs are officially on their way to loving homes, and one pup found safety with a rescue partner. Our hearts are so full!

This beautiful girl is Holly Jolly, a 3-year-old Husky who’s been waiting at the shelter since December 4th for her forever home. With her stunning blue eyes and classic Husky personality, Holly is impossible to ignore!

Holly is a fun, energetic girl who loves to “sing”—so be ready for some husky conversations! She already has some training under her belt and would thrive with an active family who can keep up with her playful spirit and continue working with her.

💚 Meet Geico Gecko 💚

This sweet guy is still waiting patiently for his forever family to come find him. Geico Gecko came to us as an owner surrender on August 12 when his family could no longer care for him. Yes—you’re seeing correctly—one of his ears was sadly chopped off, and the other is missing a chunk too. While his past may not have been easy, you’d never know it by his personality.

Geico Gecko is so fun and full of life! He loves being outside, especially when a ball is involved, and brings great energy everywhere he goes. He’s about 1.5 years old, weighs just under 50 pounds, and has a heart of absolute gold.

If you’re looking for a playful, energetic pup who’s ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter filled with love—Geico Gecko is your guy. 🐶💚

Kelly is a fan of belly rubs (the more, the better!), and once you start giving her attention, she’ll be rolling around in pure contentment. Despite her sassy expression, she’s really a softie at heart, and she can’t wait to find a loving home where she can enjoy endless cuddles and chin scratches.

So of course, we’re celebrating our favorite chocolate pup!

Meet Professor Burke 🤎
This sweet boy is about a year and a half old, a pit/lab mix, and has been waiting patiently at the shelter since October 28th.

Professor Burke is a staff favorite—and it’s easy to see why. He may be deaf, but he looks to his human for guidance and already knows how to sit and lay down for his shelter friends. He’s very treat-motivated (the fastest way to his heart!) and absolutely loves toys, especially stuffed ones 🧸

Smart, sweet, and full of love—Professor Burke is ready to be someone’s favorite chocolate-covered companion. Stop by and meet him, you just might fall in love 🤎🐾
