We wanted to notify that we will be closing the office Saturday July 5th in observance for the 4th.
We will be back to regular business hours Monday July 7th.

The clinic will not have a doctor this Friday, 1/31/25, and we are unsure if we will have a doctor Saturday, 2/1/25.

We have been without a doctor several times recently, and Dr. Messamore apologizes for any inconveniences this has caused. Decatur Animal Clinic is a 1 doctor, family owned business and unfortunately that means our services are limited when he is unable to be here. Dr. Messamore has been attending an urgent family matter and has been in the office as much as possible. He and the rest of the staff appreciate your continued support and thank you for your understanding at this time.

Please give the office a call before heading in on 2/1/25, or watch the page for updates.

While last week's promotion was extremely successful, 19 dogs finding homes during it, 24 total throughout the week, the shelter is still full. Another 27 dogs have come in since last Saturday. WE NEED ADOPTIONS! The shelter is at the scary point and tough decisions are going to have to be made if we cannot clear some space. As is stands there are not even kennels for strays or confiscates let alone surrenders or returns. Where do these dogs go when there are no kennels and no homes? The answer is not a pleasant one. PLEASE help us help these dogs, they deserve so much better than the hand they are being dealt! SHARE SHARE SHARE, tell everyone you know. And PLEASE if you or someone you know is MISSING a dog, come to the shelter. We will do what we can to help get your baby back to you!

What do you do when you have more dogs than you have kennels? Well, you ask the boss for some help! With 35 dogs available and 30+ waiting, the shelter needs to get some of these precious pooches out the front doors and into loving homes.

Sergeant Atkins with the Macon County Sheriff's Department, big man on the totem pole at MCAC, will pay the adoption fee of every dog that gets adopted! You read that right!!! Get your adoption application approved, come in and visit, take home a precious new companion and watch this guy's paycheck dwindle!
Come in now, you only have three days!!!!!!
