We also want to remind everyone how important yearly checkups are for our pets. Sometimes the smallest changes can mean the biggest things. If you notice any new lumps or bumps, changes in habits, increased or decreased food or water intake, don’t ignore it. This sweet girl came in today for itching and scratching after her owners noticed it had gotten worse over the last few days. Sadly, it’s that time of year again - allergy season is in full swing, and our itchy pups are definitely feeling it!

Dear Metro Paws - White Rock Clients,
We wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Alvarez’s last day with Metro Paws Animal Hospital will be May 30th, as he will be relocating out of state.
While we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly grateful for everything he has contributed to our team, our patients, and our clients during his time here. His dedication, compassion, and hard work have made a lasting impact on all of us.

From Dr. Alvarez:
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all of the clients and patients I have had the privilege of caring for throughout the years. It has been an honor to be entrusted with the health and well-being of your beloved pets, and I am deeply appreciative of the relationships and trust we have built together.
While I will greatly miss my patients and the people behind them, I will always appreciate the experiences and connections made along the way. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your pets’ lives and care.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the entire team at Metro Paws Animal Hospital. Thank you to the doctors, technicians, assistants, and staff for your hard work, dedication, and friendship throughout the years. It has been an honor to work alongside such an outstanding team, and I am truly grateful for the support and camaraderie we shared.”
Please join us in wishing Dr. Alvarez the very best in this new chapter. We appreciate all he has done for Metro Paws and know he will be greatly missed.
To help ensure continuity of care for our patients, we encourage clients with pets who have chronic or ongoing medical conditions to contact us prior to May 30th. This will allow Dr. Alvarez time to review your pet’s history and coordinate a smooth transition of care to another doctor on our team. Please know that your pet’s medical records and treatment plans will remain fully accessible to our veterinary staff so we can continue providing consistent, uninterrupted care.
If you would like to schedule a follow-up visit with Dr. Alvarez before his departure or have questions about transferring your pet’s care, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team or schedule online.
