Meet Wrigley!💕

Wrigley came to see us because she was having some ear troubles, and she's not alone.

Texas allergy season is officially here!

BABY KITTEN ALERT!

We have three adorable kittens searching for their fur-ever homes! These sweet little babies are about 8 weeks old and weigh around 2 pounds each. They are full of purrs, cuddles, and playful kitten energy.

Please join me in giving a warm Metro Paws welcome to our newest veterinarian at our White Rock location, Dr. Lopez!

Dr. Blanca Lopez was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Her career in veterinary medicine began through volunteering at the Dallas Animal Shelter's low-cost spay/neuter program as a kennel technician. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is excited to begin her career and fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian!

Dr. Lopez is passionate about building lasting relationships with clients and their pets in the community she grew up in. She is especially passionate about community outreach, client education, internal medicine, and surgery. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to the pets of Dallas.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs, playing pick-up soccer, or relaxing on the couch while binge-watching a new show.

We've seen quite an increase in emergency visits over the past few weeks, from snake bites to pets getting into things they shouldn't. The good news is that pet parents are acting quickly and getting their furry family members the care they need.

Meet Buddy! This sweet boy came to see us after accidentally eating grapes, which can be toxic to dogs. Thanks to his dad's quick thinking and prompt action, we were able to induce vomiting and help prevent serious complications. While Buddy wasn't thrilled about the experience, he's now back to feeling great and living his best life!

A recent case of New World Screwworm was identified in Texas. While the risk to pets remains low, it's a good reminder to regularly check your pet for any cuts, scratches, or skin irritation and seek veterinary care if a wound isn't healing properly.

Sweet little Diesel stopped by for her very first visit and kitten vaccines
There’s nothing better than watching our tiniest patients grow! Regular checkups and staying up to date on vaccines are an important part of helping our furbabies stay happy, healthy, and ready for all of life’s adventures.
