A few things to remember this Memorial Day weekend:
• Keep pets away from BBQ foods like bones, corn cobs, onions, grapes, and fatty foods 🍔
• Make sure they always have access to fresh water and shade ☀️
• Be mindful around pools, lakes, and outdoor gatherings
• Fireworks and loud noises can be stressful for pets — keep them secure indoors if needed 🎆
• Traveling? Make sure pets have updated ID tags and medications packed 🚗

Brixton was such a good boy for his examination and cytology today of a new growth that was found.🐾

Found a lump or bump on your dog? Don’t ignore it — get it checked! 🩺

Not all masses are cancerous, but the only way to know what’s going on isby doing a cytology. A cytology is a quick, minimally invasive test where we collect a small sample of cells from the mass using a tiny needle and examine them under a microscope.

Why is this important?
✔️ Helps identify infections, cysts, fatty tumors, or cancerous growths
✔️ Allows for earlier treatment if needed
✔️ Gives peace of mind for pet parents
✔️ Quick and often done during a regular appointment

Many serious masses can look harmless on the outside, which is why we always recommend having any new or changing lump evaluated by your veterinarian.

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them — tornadoes, floods, fires, hurricanes, and severe storms can all put our pets at risk. Today is a great reminder to make sure your furry family members are included in your emergency plans too! ❤️

Here are a few ways to prepare your pets before disaster strikes:
🐶 Keep a pet emergency kit ready with food, water, medications, and medical records
🐱 Make sure collars, ID tags, and microchip information are up to date
🐾 Have a carrier or leash easily accessible for every pet
📸 Keep recent photos of your pets in case you become separated
