🐾Case Spotlight: Kirby

Kirby is a senior Labrador Retriever who has developed multiple lipomas throughout her life. Lipomas are common benign fatty masses seen in dogs. While many remain small and unchanged, others can continue to grow over time.

One of Kirby’s lipomas, located on her chest, gradually became so large that it began touching the ground while she walked. The constant rubbing caused irritation and increased the risk of ulceration or rupture, making surgical removal the best option for her comfort and quality of life.

Kirby recently underwent surgery to have the mass removed and is recovering wonderfully! ❤️

This case is an important reminder that even benign masses should be monitored routinely. Changes in size, location, mobility, or irritation should always be evaluated by your veterinarian to determine the best course of action for your pet.

🐾 Case Spotlight: Piper

Piper, an 8-year-old Catahoula mix, presented with moderate to severe right hind limb lameness.

On exam, she showed stifle joint effusion, pain, and positive cranial drawer/tibial thrust, consistent with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injury.

Radiographs supported the diagnosis, and Piper underwent a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) to stabilize her knee. 💪

At her 1-month recheck, Piper is doing well—she still has a mild limp, but is already significantly improved compared to pre-surgery and continues to progress through recovery as expected. ✨

TPLO recovery is a gradual process, and Piper is right on track! 🐶❤️
