Because I can’t say it any better❤️
In Memory of all the horses who gave their lives for independence.
❤"The Drummer’s Horse" ❤
Through smoke and storm on fields once green,
Where cannon roared and death had been,
A lone horse walks with solemn grace,
No rider now, no hurried pace.
The stars and stripes, though old in seam,
Drape softly like a tattered dream.
Its folds recall a nation’s birth—
A cry for freedom scorched in earth.
No bugle sounds, no trumpet calls,
Just musket fire and thundering walls.
Yet in this beast, brave hearts resound,
Their echoes hoofed on blood-soaked ground.
Perhaps he bore a boy too young,
Whose final breath was barely sung.
Or pulled the drums that led the line—
A rhythm lost in war’s decline.
Still through the battle’s deafening tide,
He wanders calm, with quiet pride.
A living thread through chaos spun,
A shadow cast beneath the sun.
And though the fight still shakes the air,
This horse walks on—unbroken, bare.
A silent oath in every stride:
That liberty shall not subside.
Happy 4th Of July Guys!
