Congratulations to Abby for winning not one but TWO Shootout buckles, from Youth and Open! She shaved off .5 seconds from her personal best, and we are SO proud of her!

We’d also like to shoutout our other competitors this weekend. Barrel racing isn’t always about making the winner’s circle. Sometimes you don’t land where you were really hoping you’d land in those D’s. Just because y’all didn’t walk away with buckles doesn’t mean we aren’t extremely proud of y’all. A good attitude even when you don’t wind speaks volume about your horsemanship, dedication and appreciation for your horses. Y’all, I’m blown away by the positivity with these girls, always looking for ways to improve rather than being upset when a run doesn’t go how they thought it would. You guys have walked away with some big checks before and I know you’ll be right back there again. Dedication pays off! And the ability to brush off less than ideal performances and put your eyes on the next event is something you’ve already learned - this early on in your careers!! We are unendingly proud of you all. Those holding buckles, and those heading back to the practice pen. 🩷☺️

I’d also like to put a little focus on my up and coming barrel horse this weekend, who picked up two checks, and while she didn’t land in a spot for a buckle, she tried her heart out for FIVE runs this weekend and I am just so grateful for such an awesome partner. ☺️ She made the shootout and really shined, with a new personal best time and stayed strong all weekend! 🩷☺️🩷

We’d also ALL like to thank Go Fast Races for having us out this weekend for such a great time! We feel spoiled getting to run with such a great production! 😄🩷

We get the absolute pleasure of consigning this sweet, BIG and beautiful gelding! He’ll be on the market for a short time for standard purchase but if he lasts he’ll go on HorseBid, so scoop him up quick! ☺️ He’s been here at Unique Horsemanship getting fine tuning training and tugging at our heart. Such a beautiful horse, inside and out. ☺️

So proud of our students!!
Shoutout to these great horsewomen. We all took home ribbons and prizes from today’s playday, and gathered more points for series’ end prizes - but most importantly, stayed safe, took care of our horses, had good attitudes and gave the glory to God. 🩷

Hey speed students of Unique Horsemanship!! TLPRC playday 2025 is now a SADDLE SERIES!!! I’m so excited for y’all and can’t wait to watch you put all of your hard work and dedicated practice time into this upcoming series and see how it pays off. 😊🙌 Two of you swept up some buckles last year. Round two!

As for everyone else following me but doesn’t train with us, if you’re thinking about doing this playday, you totally should! They’re always a blast. Come give my girls as much competition as possible!! It grows us all! 🙌☺️

Such a fun weekend out at Go Fast Races
Season Starter!!
Proud of my girl, Corona who laid down two fast, clean runs. She continues to get more and more consistent! We sadly fell between the Ds and didn’t bring home a check, but Haley and Summer sure did! They took checks home BOTH DAYS for a total of $749! So proud of her and Summer!! You go girls! ☺️🙌

Hope everyone is staying warm during this cold snap! 🥶 All the personal horses and training horses are bundled up in blankets, with plenty of AlfaForce Nuggets and hay to keep them warm. For those of you that have training horses with us - your babies are being monitored and they’re doing great! We should be resuming training tomorrow. 😃

Skipping steps and rushing the process can be very detrimental to our horses. It’s not a race to see who can get one trained the fastest.

Train for the horse not for the video.

Be present through the process, realizing where your horse is at so that you can be realistic with your expectations.

This doesn’t mean every day should be simple. Progress is made through challenges. We should be challenging ourselves and our horses past our comfort zone at times. We need to work through the challenge and hold our horses accountable before we move onto something else.

Learn to love the whole process, not just the win!

Be patient.
Be present.
Be persistent.
