Celebrating the 4th of July often involves fun activities, including spending time with friends and family at barbecues, and, of course, fireworks. However, what you may consider fun could be stressful to your pets. 🐶🙀

Here are ways you can keep your pets safe and secure from the ASPCA and The Humane Society of the United States:
1. Keep your pets away from fireworks.
2. If your pet is scared by fireworks, ask your veterinarian for help.
3. Keep your pet indoors.
4. Safeguard your pet with a collar, ID tag, and make sure they are microchipped.
5. Keep your pets on their normal diet.

Celebrating the Fourth of July often involves fun activities, including spending time with friends and family, and, of course, fireworks. However, what you may consider fun could be stressful to your pets 🐶🙀.

One orphaned baby bird needs to make it safely to Austin Wildlife Rescue located at 5401 E. MLK Jr. Blvd.

Shelter staff were surprised and not in a good way this morning!!!!

A litter of 6 puppies were found dumped at the road by the shelter gates in a bird cage this morning.

After flea treatment and care they all appear to be in good condition and will now receive the care they deserve. ❤️

The shelter is seeking bottle baby fosters to care for these sweet little guys and gals! Is anyone willing to open their hearts and home?

Their teeth are just barely starting to poke through their gums. They will need bottle feeding and when the time is right, help transitioning to gruel and puppy kibble.

The Lockhart Animal Shelter will provide supplies and training.

The Lockhart Animal Shelter is AT CAPACITY, which means we are we are FULL. Even in this situation, we continue to be overwhelmed with new intakes.

Please help our dogs and cats by ADOPTING, FOSTERING, and SPREADING THE WORD by sharing our posts on social media.

We are lowering the adoption fee to $30 at this time to help these animals find their forever homes as quickly as possible. This special goes on until June 1.
